We've appointed Steve Sheppard as our new Exploration Manager. Steve brings over 30 years of geological experience, primarily in Western Australia, with a focus on gold exploration and innovative field techniques. We've appointed Jason Boladeras as Executive Director, effective immediately. Jason, who has over 25 years of experience in exploration and mining, has been Westar’s Exploration Manager since September 2023 and CEO since June 2024. Founding Director Karl Jupp is stepping down as Non-Executive Director to focus on other business interests. The Board thanks Karl for his significant contributions to Westar, including overseeing the acquisition of key exploration assets, and wishes him success in his future endeavours. Chairman Simon Eley commented: “Westar Resources is advancing its gold mineral assets with renewed vigour, and we welcome the appointment of Jason to the Board, where his project acquisition and exploration expertise will be invaluable. We've completed a detailed historic mining and exploration review covering the Mindoolah Mining Centre; part of our Mindoolah Gold Project in Western Australia, uncovering significant gold potential beneath several open pits and underground workings. The review revealed historic high-grade gold results, including rock chip samples up to 39.4 g/t Au and drill intercepts such as 4m @ 8.8 g/t Au from 32m. A field crew is now mobilising to carry out detailed mapping and sampling programs, which will assist in planning a drill program targeting along strike and down-dip from known gold mineralisation. CEO Jason Boladeras noted: “A thorough and methodical historical data compilation and review is ‘worth its weight in gold’ and I’m pleased to see this approach has uncovered exactly what we had hoped for: historic high-grade gold results from in and around old workings and shallow, modern-day open pits. The review has shown that Mindoolah has the potential to host a high-grade gold system. We've elected not to exercise our option to acquire the Uley North Graphite Project in South Australia. Our focus remains on advancing our exciting gold and base metal exploration targets, particularly at the Mindoolah and Gidgee North Projects. We anticipate news later this month regarding exploration targets defined from a detailed geological review of the historic Mindoolah high-grade gold mining centre. We will also continue our search for advanced gold and copper focused projects located in supportive jurisdictions both nationally and internationally to transform our Company from explorer to developer. CEO Jason Boladeras noted: “Our extensive due diligence on the project confirms a number of excellent graphite exploration targets, however, possible land access hurdles are likely to take considerable time to investigate further.
