There's no denying it—we're slightly obsessed with Australian coffee! Over the weekend, our team conducted a sensory analysis of over 350 experimental Australian-grown coffee samples, provided by Dr. FAWAD Ali at Griffith University. These trials aim to uncover the connections between cultivation factors—like soil composition and microbial activity—and their influence on the coffee's final flavour profile. Thank you, Dr. FAWAD Ali for trusting in our team's expertise and giving us the opportunity to contribute to this important work. You can learn more about this project in our latest blog post below. 👇 https://lnkd.in/gCHW2Eiw

Zest Fun Fact #13! Today, we’re joined by Dr. FAWAD Ali from Griffith University, a leading expert with a PhD in Agroecology and Sustainable Agriculture. Dr. Fawad has dedicated his career to researching crop production and agricultural innovation. His latest focus is on the coffee sector in tropical North Queensland, where he’s conducting an experiment on nitrogen levels. In this video, Dr. Fawad provides insights into the ongoing experiment, discussing how nitrogen might influence methane emissions, production, and flavour quality, with the ultimate goal of enhancing sustainability. We’re incredibly excited to support Dr. Fawad on his research alongside Jack Murat Farm by offering sensory analysis and assisting with various processing trials. We look forward to seeing where this research leads and how it could contribute to a more sustainable future in Australian-grown coffee.

Get excited folks, it's CafeSmart Day Today! CafeSmart is a yearly charity event where roasters and cafes join forces to help raise funds to tackle grassroots homelessness across the country. As a proud partner, we’ve spent the past few weeks rallying our cafes to get involved. This Friday, participating cafes will donate $1 from every coffee sold to CafeSmart. Given the challenging climate for small businesses, we’re incredibly proud of our partners who were able to get involved! So, if you’re out and about this Friday, do your best to pop into your local participating cafe and show your support by purchasing a coffee! Here are just a few of our partners: - Besser Brew Bar (Darwin, NT) - Laneway Specialty Coffee (Darwin, NT) - Biddy Martha's Cafe (Bunyip, VIC) - Carson Cafe (Pascoe Vale, VIC) - Dolly's Donuts (Glenbrook, NSW) - Cinnabun (Albion, VIC) - Cafe 1910 (Wonthaggi Hospital, VIC) Happy CafeSmart Day!
