Today, we’re delighted to announce a $40 million investment to expand our Australian intravenous (IV) fluids manufacturing plant in Old Toongabbie. Baxter and the Australian Government will each contribute $20 million towards the project to expand Australia’s largest and only onshore manufacturing plant for IV fluids, delivering more jobs at our production facility in Western Sydney, and further strengthening our supply of Australian-made IV and irrigation fluids. This landmark investment builds on Baxter's proud history in Australia of over 50 years, and our ongoing actions to build an even stronger supply of Australian-made intravenous and irrigation fluids to support our customers, caregivers and patients with the products they rely on. Thank you to the Minister for Health and Aged Care, Mark Butler, and Member for Parramatta, Dr Andrew Charlton, and the Labor Government for supporting Baxter to help meet the future needs of Australian patients. We’re proud to be continuing this momentum to deliver on our Mission to save and sustain lives. Click the link below to read the full announcement: https://lnkd.in/eJ2-S23A

Exciting news! Our new world-class compounding facility in Perth is officially open! After receiving our TGA license, we can't wait to commence compounding and continue our 20+ year commitment to supporting Western Australian patients with critical medicines. This new facility strengthens our network of licensed facilities across Australia and New Zealand, and we're thrilled to have over 60 highly skilled staff on board, with more expansion on the horizon. With a 50% increase in capacity in Western Australia, we're ready to serve more patients than ever before! A huge thank you to our Baxter team and the over 100 tradesmen who worked tirelessly to construct this facility, and we're proud to announce that the opening means 200 direct and indirect jobs for the community. Connecting with the experiences of people living with Home Parenteral Nutrition. As part of Home Parenteral Nutrition Awareness Week (October 13-19) in Australia and New Zealand, some of Baxter’s A/NZ Senior Leadership Team experienced a small part of what it means to be a Home Parenteral Nutrition patient. They spent three days participating in a "Day in the Life" challenge by wearing a backpack filled with parental nutrition solution and infusion pump similar to that of a patient. More than 300 adults, teenagers and children across A/NZ require Home PN due to chronic illnesses affecting their digestive system. This often means wearing a backpack containing a bag of specialised medical fluids (nutrition formula) and a small infusion pump that administers the nutrition fluids over the course of the day or night via a venous/vein (parenteral) access. For more than half a century, Baxter has been supporting Australian and New Zealand patients on Home Parenteral Nutrition (Home PN) with the products and services they need. #HPNAwarenessWeek

In anticipation of Home Parenteral Nutrition Awareness Week (October 13-19), we’re looking forward to welcoming local patients, carers and clinicians to our TGA and Medsafe licensed pharmaceutical compounding facilities throughout Australia and New Zealand. Parenteral Nutrition (PN) is the provision of nutrition intravenously, when it is provided at home it is referred to as Home Parenteral Nutrition (HPN). There are different medical conditions that can impact the function of the digestive system which may require a person to have PN to meet their nutritional requirements. HPN enables those who require it to be involved in school, work, sport and travel and live life how they want to. Supporting people on Home Parenteral Nutrition (Home PN) with the products and services they need is a significant part of Baxter’s history in Australia and New Zealand and is helping to fulfill our mission to save and sustain lives.
