MTB celebrated Silver Jubilee by distributing loan under CGS Mutual Branch Bank PLC (MTB) has distributed fresh loans to clients under Credit Guarantee Scheme (CGS) of Bangladesh Bank to celebrate its Silver Jubilee in its corporate Head office in Dhaka. CGS is launched to scale up lending to CMSMEs who are unable to offer readily available collateral to receive credit facility from commercial banks. 25 entrepreneurs’ have received loan sanction under CGS out of which 20 enterprises are owned by women. MTB Foundation celebrates the Bank’s Silver Jubilee by distributing Livelihood Assets Grant amongst the Vulnerable Fishing Communities of Chakaria, Cox’s Bazar As a part of the 25th anniversary celebration of Mutual Trust Bank PLC (MTB), MTB Foundation recently distributed livelihood assets grant to a large number of Households (HHs) of the vulnerable fishing communities at Bheola Manik Char and Kaiyarbil Unions, Chakaria Upazila, Cox’s Bazar District under the project titled ‘Creating Alternative Livelihood for Vulnerable Fishing Communities through Income Generating Activities (IGAs)’. The highlight of the program was the distribution of materials for crab farming, duck farming, dry fish processing, homestead gardening and small business. These IGAs will be driven by the female family members of the fishermen who will take the activities forward during the fishing ban period with a view to creating an income source throughout the year. The objective of the program is to support the Government’s initiative for increasing fish production through uninterrupted breeding by separate fishing bans thrice a year in the interest of the national economy and, at the same time, ensure that the fishing community has an alternative source of income.
