🌐The Estoril Conferences - A Future of Hope, a platform to promote an open, intergenerational and impactful dialogue on global challenges, will take place on the 24 and 25th of October 2024, in Nova School of Business and Economics in Cascais, Portugal. Under the main theme “Time to ReThink”, the 9th Edition of the Estoril Conferences will provide the stage for an #intergenerational #dialogue, bringing together people from all corners of the globe, to discuss humanity’s most pressing challenges. More than 40 speakers will share their wisdom and experience to spark meaningful dialogues. This year’s edition of the Estoril Conferences are organized by Nova School of Business and Economics, NOVA Medical School - Faculdade de Ciências Médicas, Digital Data Design (D^3) Institute at Harvard, The Municipality of Cascais (Câmara Municipal de Cascais) and Turismo de Portugal. 🍷 Belgium Wine Tasting 2024, organized by ViniPortugal, took place last Monday, October 14th, at the Galerie La Patinoire Royale Bach in Brussels, marking this year's flagship event for Portuguese wines in Belgium.   The event, titled "Wine Meets Art," brought together 28 Portuguese wine producers from various regions, showcasing their finest selections for both industry professionals and consumers. Alongside the tastings, a seminar focused on market trends was held, with presentations by renowned wine experts Kristel Balcaen and Andy De Brouwer, who highlighted the award-winning wines from the 2024 Vinhos de Portugal competition. The event had a major local impact on the trade and media linked to the wine sector and was attended by the Portuguese Ambassador to Belgium, Jorge Cabral, and by Rui Paulo Almas and Fábio Fojo Cruz from the AICEP Belgium team, accompanied by Sónia Vieira from Viniportugal.   In 2023, Belgium was Portugal's 9th largest market for wine exports, with sales reaching €41.01 million and over 11 million liters.   📢 AICEP Belgium supported ViniPortugal by providing local market information and insights and helping promote the event among trade, media, and institutional partners across the BENELUX region. The European Commission has approved a €1 billion Portuguese scheme to support investments for the production of equipment necessary to foster the transition towards a net-zero economy, in line with the Green Deal Industrial Plan. The scheme was approved under the State aid Temporary Crisis and Transition Framework (TCTF), adopted by the Commission on 9 March 2023 and amended on 20 November 2023 and on 2 May 2024. The TCTF provides for the following types of aid, which can be granted by Member States until 31 December 2025 in order to accelerate the green transition: ➡️ Measures accelerating the rollout of #renewableenergy. ➡️ Measures facilitating the #decarbonisation of industrial processes. ➡️ Measures to further accelerate investments in key sectors for the transition towards a net-zero economy. “This €1 billion Portuguese measure supports investments in strategic equipment to accelerate the transition to a net-zero economy. This includes #batteries, #solarpanels, #heatpumps, #windturbines, #electrolysers and #carboncapture usage and storage.
