I recently had the privilege of attending the “Spatial Omics and Complexities of Human Diseases: Resolve and Solve” workshop, hosted by EMBO. From spatial tissue profiling and cell atlas creation to multiplexed bio-imaging and AI-driven multi-omics analysis, the depth of knowledge shared was incredible. What struck me the most is how quickly spatial omics is advancing toward real-world clinical applications. Here are some key trends that stood out:  🔬 Prioritizing cell-cell interactions to uncover deeper disease insights  🧩 Moving from 2D to 3D models for a more comprehensive view of tissues  🤖 Utilizing AI/ML to lower costs and fill in gaps by inferring missing data Of course, challenges remain:  💡 Finding the right balance between throughput, cost, and depth in data collection 📊 Overcoming bottlenecks in data analysis bandwidth for spatial transcriptomics The workshop provided invaluable insights that I’m eager to apply to our work at BioLizard, particularly in our multi-omics application, Bio|Mx, as we continue to push the boundaries of precision medicine. Exciting times ahead! #SpatialOmics #Bioinformatics #PrecisionMedicine #AIinHealthcare #EMBO
