I am excited to share that I have been awarded the Second Prize at the GSK Clinical Science in Pulmonology awards of the Belgian Respiratory Society! We presented our work on the exploration of screening tools to detect interstitial lung disease in patients with rheumatoid arthritis. I am incredibly grateful to the BeRS and GSK for this tremendous honor. A heartfelt thank you goes out to the ILD and RA teams. Looking forward to continuing our work in the early detection of RA-ILD! It's all about perspective. Hoe je naar de dingen kijkt, bepaalt vaak ook hoe anderen ernaar kijken. Neem nu mijn ziekte. Pulmonale Hypertensie. Ik kan blijven hangen in het feit dat de overlevingskans zonder behandeling nog steeds minder dan 3 jaar is. Dat het 2 jaar duurt voor er een diagnose wordt gesteld of dat er nog steeds geen medicijn bestaat. Dus systematisch ga ik achteruit en kan ik minder en minder. Eerlijk? Behoorlijk deprimerend. Maar ik kies ervoor om er toch met een positieve blik naar te kijken. Zo heb ik onwaarschijnlijk mooie en sterke mensen leren kennen bij @PHbelgium. Ondervind ik dat fulltime werken soms lastig is, maar dat dat met een team fantastische collega's en een portie flexibiliteit van @portofantwerpbruges prima lukt. En vooral. Er beweegt momenteel heel veel in de zoektocht naar medicijnen die echt een game changer kunnen zijn. Maar daarvoor is geld en aandacht nodig. Zeker in aanloop naar 5 mei, Werelddag voor Pulmonale Hypertensie. De aandacht heb ik hiermee alvast hopelijk wat kunnen verhogen, maar we proberen ook extra fondsen te verzamelen. Developed for and partly by doctors at UZ Leuven and BREATHE lab KU Leuven, the technology grew to be essential for the assessment of the quality of spirometry data in clinical trials and for the further optimization of clinical studies. The integration of ArtiQ’s unique software into Clario’s portfolio will allow it to scale worldwide to all clinical trials and sponsors, fostering a positive impact even beyond the scope of respiratory care. ArtiQ was guided by KU Leuven Research & Development in its entire trajectory: from business concept to spin-off, over the first seed rounds to the exit negotiations of these past few months.
