We recently received the prestigious Prince Michael International Road Safety Award in recognition of our work in road safety globally. One of the leading examples of that work comes out of EMEA: the “Sicurezza on the Road” programme (or "Safety on the Road"), a collaboration between Bridgestone Italy and the Italian Red Cross. Since it launched in 2023, the programme has delivered road safety, first aid and vehicle maintenance training to young people throughout Italy – all to help address the country's alarming rate of road fatalities and injuries, totaling nearly a quarter of a million per year. To date, the programme has engaged around 30,000 people across schools, outdoor campaigns and summer camps. And all made possible by nearly 2,500 volunteers representing the Italian Red Cross and Bridgestone.

At Bridgestone EMEA we’re committed to ensuring continuous innovation in tyres goes hand in hand with sustainability improvements. The new generation of our flagship long haul tyre range, Ecopia, is the perfect demonstration of this. The head of our Sustainability Office, Sreepadaraj Karanam explains why.

Since 2021, our ‘Women in Motion' programme has been upskilling and empowering women across our organisation. From 20 participants four years ago, to over 150 last year, the programme is going from strength-to-strength, helping to transform life at Bridgestone for both our current and future female colleagues. At our Bridgestone Tatabánya Plant in Hungary, we recently celebrated 19 new graduates of the 12-month programme from our Technology and Operations organisations. Congratulations to them all!

To mark International Women’s Day (IWD), today we came together for a special-edition Bridgestone EMEA Town Hall to reflect on this year’s theme: ‘Accelerate Action’. The Bridgestone Potenza Sport has secured a top spot in the ADAC summer tyre test for 2025.   ADAC, Germany’s biggest Automobilclub and consumer protection organization for mobility, rated our high-performance tyre as “Good” and scored it in second place out of 18 entrants.   Offering outstanding grip, precision handling and short braking distances on both wet and dry roads, the Bridgestone Potenza Sport received the highest score for safety across wet and dry tests. The tyre also received the best score for wet and fourth highest for mileage.
