On 19th September 2024, Ceemet attended the Conference on “ #AI and Algorithmic Management: How is reshaping the workplace?” organised by Eurofound. This was the occasion for the experts to present some research about the evolution of the EU #LabourMarket with the integration of AI. The speakers explained that companies, employers and employees are facing deep transformation in their daily jobs and that AI is not a new tool that we will plug into our business model but that we need to integrate inside of the business development.

On 19th September 2024, Ceemet attended the online information session on “remote work and hybrid work” that was organised by the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU-OSHA)”. This was the occasion for the experts in this field to highlight the main opportunities and risks associated with remote and hybrid work. In addition, the speakers also explained that emerging technologies such as virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) are bringing remote work to a greater number of workers. For the MET companies, H&S for remote workers should be a priority be it at the workers’ premises or for nomad workers.

Our Norwegian member federation, Norsk Industri, have collaborated for one and a half years on a project called "The Dyslexia-Friendly Workplace" with Dyslexia Norway and the Inclusive Work Place Program for Suppliers in the Oil & Gas Industry. In the Ceemet - European Tech & Industry Employers Manifesto entitled "For a more competitive industry in a stronger Europe: a Ceemet perspective“, one of our key asks for policymakers is that they put a greater focus on best practice. This best practice example in the area of occupational safety and health illustrates the fact that we do not only talk the talk, but we walk the walk! Ceemet - European Tech & Industry Employers is happy to be the part of the project “EWC MENTOR: EWC Mentors’ Effective Networking and Training On Cooperation Reinforcement” that has been officially launched in December 2023. This project is centred on fostering employee engagement, with a specific focus on encouraging participation and development of European Works Councils. The project prioritizes promoting active involvement of employees in company decisions, particularly through EWCs, which serve as a platform for transnational dialogue between management and workers in multinational companies across Europe. Additionally, the project aims to identify and tackle challenges arising from changes in the workplace, particularly those associated with the twin transitions. Ceemet would like to share the following useful resources in relation to the project: · the background report that highlights the project priorities, as well as the recent initiatives and developments with regards to EWC; · the article on employment rights for atypical workers; · training materials.
