It accounts for almost 80% of all energy used by households, which in turn, are responsible for 21% of the EU's greenhouse gas emissions, contributing to climate change, energy insecurity and deteriorated air quality. Local authorities have the potential to detoxify their heating and cooling systems and can make a big difference for cleaner air, a stronger economy and more resilient communities. District heating DOES NOT make your heating bill explode! 🚫 Contrary to popular belief, district heating and cooling (DHC) can actually lead to more stable and predictable energy costs. Why? Because it allows for greater flexibility in fuel sources and better long-term energy contracts.
