Today I successfully defended my PhD dissertation. A huge thank you to my external examiner Michael Roy and my internal examiner Deirdre McQuillan for a very robust discussion. Also thanks to the chair Dr Siobhán Killion who was incredibly in calming me down and making it such an (almost) enjoyable experience. It has been such a privilege to do an indepth piece of research on the scaling of social enterprises and I am beyond grateful to each of the 46 participants who contributed to my field work. A huge thank you to my supervisors Lucia Walsh and Ziene Mottiar, they have been incredible every step of the way and I am so grateful to them. On the first page of my dissertation, I dedicated my PhD to my dad Kevin O'Reilly who, if you are fortunate to know him, know he is such a legend. He never stops learning, even at 83, and I am beyond grateful he instilled that in me. And now….a very long nap is in order!!
