The European Migration Network (EMN) is a Europe-wide network consisting of National Contact Points (NCPs) in the EMN Member (EU Member States except Denmark) and Observer Countries (Norway, Armenia, Georgia, Moldova, Montenegro, Serbia, Ukraine), the European Commission and the EMN Service Provider (ICF). EMN Belgium provides up-to-date, objective, reliable and comparable information on migration and asylum in order to support policymaking in these areas in Belgium and Europe. More specifically, EMN Belgium aims to: - understand the information needs; - ensure and encourage information exchanges; - enhance the EMN's role in responding to such needs in an appropriate format. EMN Belgium includes staff members from various institutions: - the Immigration Office - the Office of Commissioner General for Refugees & Stateless Persons - Myria, the Federal Migration Centre - the Federal Agency for the Reception of Asylum Seekers EMN Belgium is coordinated by the Federal Public Service Interior and supported by a National Steering Group composed of the directors of the above mentioned institutions.

👀 Behind the scenes of the Asylum & Migration Glossary! 📕 This week, we were happy to host the 62nd meeting of the European Migration Network Glossary Working Group, which meets regularly to discuss new terms, update existing ones, and exchange best practices on promotion activities. The meeting also included contributions from the European Commission, EU agencies (European Union Agency for Asylum – EUAA, Frontex), the Council of the European Union, and the UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency who were invited to present their own work on the harmonisation of migration-related vocabulary. 🤝 Discussions were held on the best ways to coordinate this work among all actors involved and strengthen cooperation, especially in view of the inclusion of new terms related to the Pact on Migration and Asylum. 👉 Find out more: https://lnkd.in/e2uUwqSx
