Did you know Social Economy is a central pilar of EU’s unique model of #accessible, #affordable and #quality #health and #care system? Because #SocialEconomy is a key provider of: ❤️ Care for all: elderly, babies, children, people with disabilities, low income groups, persons with chronic illnesses... 🤲 Integrated approach especially in terms of long-term care 🏘️ Services in underserved areas, like rural areas, where it provides a range of services 💉 Treatments and financing for both neglected and rare diseases 👩🦳 Human-centered approach to service provision 🔬 Research at the forefront of social and technological innovation in the care sector 📖 Health education and prevention programmes 🧩 Support solutions to care workers Moreover, #Mutuals are crucial actors that support european Health systems by making health more affordable to #citizens (without discrimination towards health conditions) and more sustainable for the #MemberStates. Social Economy is a key actor in reaching the goals of the EU Health Union. Social Economy (SE) promotes a model that puts people and their wellbeing before profit, including both their mental well-being and physical health. Well anchored in the social fabric, SE initiatives were pivotal during COVID pandemic in swiftly providing solutions like manufacturing masks and other supplies, and helping people out in different ways (psychological helps, mobility, food delivery,...). SE actors helped mitigate the crisis by supporting welfare services and collaborated with public authorities to address health needs. 📍 The city of Valladolid in Spain is leading the way in using Socially Responsible Public Procurement to support homeless people. 📃 By reserving contracts for comprehensive care services under Article 77 of Directive 2014/24/EU, they are tackling one of the EU’s most pressing social challenges, while successfully involving social economy entities. 💡 This initiative is more than just a contract – it's a commitment to human dignity and social responsibility. It’s a model that other municipalities across Europe can learn from and replicate. 🔗 Watch the testimonial video to learn more about this inspiring case study: https://lnkd.in/dMMcy-Ep #WeBuySocialEU
