What about you ? Are you balanced and ambitious...? Are you ready to drop balance to follow your ambition? Or will you follow your balance and drop the ambition? Food for thought ?
Is the pursuit of "perfect work-life balance" actually holding us/ the ambitious people back? As someone who interviews candidates daily, I often hear: "I really need a good work-life balance Sir." I noticed the same at a business event earlier this week; youngsters were not even present, probably as it was out of office hours too…while discussing it with others we came to the following question: Is this quest for balance possibly dampening growth and passion on longer term? Will it perhaps lead to more bore-outs and depressions? Here are a few patterns I have been noticing: - Stability can dull creativity. Too much comfort leads to stagnation. Easy! - Lack of challenges = limited growth. Real progress often requires discomfort. Some want growth but want comfort too…so? - False sense of balance sets us up for disappointment. – what if it doesn’t bring you what you expected? - Passion thrives in the messy parts of life. Comfort and passion can be at odds! Can you really have both? - Happiness vs. Fulfillment: True meaning comes from challenges, not just comfort. Maybe the goal isn’t "perfect" balance, but a "dynamic one"—ebbs and flows that drive both stability and growth. What about your thoughts? Is balance overrated? How do you look at your balance and ambition ? #Foodforthought #balance #gentlemenrecruiter #ambition #lackof #boreout
