G-HiTech Industries developed a solar mesh grid to provide affordable & productive electricity generation and storage with a focus on sub-Saharan Africa, powering health, education and small businesses. The proprietary technology has the potential for impacting access to electricity for millions of people. We joined previous investors in providing a loan that unlocks a further 1,1M in funding! We met Diane when she applied for our accelerator in 2022, in 2023 she joined the Google Digital Incubator we organised together with Google Digital Atelier Belgium, BeCentral & ELLE Belgique and in September she joined the #Raise fundraising programme supported by the PULSE Foundation. [Intersectional solution for climate change] 🔌 Please meet diane umunyurwa! 🔌Diane Umunyurwa, a Belgian of African origin and a fervent advocate of #sustainabledevelopment, currently leads G-HiTech Industries as its CEO. This innovative start-up is at the forefront of transforming #solar energy grids, aiming to significantly improve the availability of clean, reliable, productive and affordable electricity across Africa. 🔌G-Hitech’s technology facilitates the creation of energy clusters by interconnecting batteries and solar panels, thereby promoting community-wide electricity sharing. 🔌Diane's career is marked by her strategic leadership in business development at G-Hitech Industries and her work as Innovation Manager at a major Engineering company in Europe. 🔌In these roles, she played a key role in managing the transition from concept to market-ready products and in promoting a customer-centric approach to innovation. Her previous career has enhanced her project management skills considerably, enabling her to contribute to crucial projects that are playing a key role in transforming the energy landscape in Belgium and Europe. 🔌Furthermore, Diane serves as a board member of Convivial, an NGO active in the integration of refugees and newcomers in Belgium. Having benefited from Convivial's services 20 years ago, when she arrived in Belgium after fleeing war in her home country, she now takes great pleasure in and in supporting the various projects run by Convivial.
