What an inspiring experience it was to participate in the Allied For Startups Annual Summit 2024! Representing European Confederation of Junior Enterprises (JE Europe) formal partner of the event, I had the chance to connect with some incredible entrepreneurs, dedicated founders, and policymakers who are actively working to strengthen the European startup ecosystem. 🚀 Allied For Startups, a global advocacy network, works tirelessly to create a policy environment that supports startups and scale-ups. This year’s summit, marking its 10th anniversary, explored how Europe can remain competitive in the digital economy. 🌍 🌟 It was inspiring to be part of discussions on the delicate balance between fostering #innovation and implementing #regulations. Some sensitive but indispensable issues were discussed such as how we need to emphasise the need to reduce red tape and build a true Capital Markets Union, paving the way for a more dynamic entrepreneurial landscape. Or of the impact of #AIAct on start-ups, do they really have the tools to adopt this new policy? Do they have the financial and time resources to keep up with this growing volume of compliance? Hearing from legal experts, policymakers, and startup leaders side-by-side offered a well-rounded view of how policies are crafted and the various interests involved. ⚖ It was also important for Us to emphasise the importance of investing in #universities in order to make entrepreneurship democratic and more accessible for Us as young people, something that is indispensable for achieving the ambitious European goals. A big thank you to Allied For Startups for creating this amazing event and a platform where JE Europe could contribute actively to these important discussions. It’s exciting to see how our collaboration will continue to evolve, and I’m looking forward to helping drive change and innovation in Europe.💪🌐 #Startups #Entrepreneurship #Innovation #PolicyMaking #AFSAnnualSummit #JEEurope

On Tuesday, I had the honor to represent the European Confederation of Junior Enterprises (JE Europe) at a working breakfast organized by SME Connect about 𝐔𝐧𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥: 𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐮𝐫𝐬 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐄𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞’𝐬 𝐄𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐲 at the European Economic and Social Committee. I was one of the panel speakers together with: Boni Garcia Porras - Head of Unit DG GROW of the European Commission Elin McCallum - Founder of Bantani Education Amelie Baracat-Empereur - Director EU Government Affairs at Herbalife Dieter-Michael Grohmann - Artist and entrepreneur. Our discussions addressed several key challenges faced by solo entrepreneurs, including administrative burdens and limited access to funding. Another crucial aspect we explored was the importance of shifting mindsets to make people feel safe and empowered to become entrepreneurs. Building experience, embracing failure as a learning opportunity, and taking initiative are essential human skills that need to be developed and fostered. At Junior Enterprises Europe, we are proud to be able to contribute to such important dialogues with influential stakeholders. We emphasize the necessity of creating safe learning spaces where aspiring entrepreneurs can develop both hard and soft skills, ensure that they are well-equipped to face the challenges ahead. Let’s cultivate a European environment where individuals at all ages and stages of their careers feel confident and prepared to run a business, ensuring that SMEs continue to be the beating heart of our economy! Thank you to Sandra Parthie - President of the EESC’s Section for the Internal Market, Milena Angelova - Member of the EESC, Vice-President of SGI, Horst Heitz - Chair of the Steering Committee at SME Connect, MEP Jörgen Warborn , Paul RÜBIG EU and all the other participants for their contributions!

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐋𝐎’𝐬 𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐝 If it is not a secret how crucial the belief in a more equal and just work environment is for younger generations, it may seem surprising that despite the importance of these topics, a lot of young people are still not fully aware of their rights at work.
