When polarisation is linked to hatred, it leaves no room for enriching conversation. That's why our 15th Civil Society Prize will reward EU initiatives combating harmful polarisation of European society. Civil society plays an important role in monitoring the hotbeds of online and offline division. Our prize will spotlight EU initiatives implementing measures to prevent this phenomenon from becoming damaging. If you have a non-profit initiative in support of this cause, apply by 7 November 2024, 10:00 AM (CET) → europa.eu/!n4ryb9 #CivilSocietyPrize #EUCivilSociety

About us
We are a consultative body that represents Europe's socio-occupational interest groups and other civil society organisations and gives them a forum to express their points of view on EU issues. Our 329 members work on a wide range of issues, and their 'opinions' on EU laws and proposals advise the other institutions, namely the European Parliament, Council and Commission.

This month, wear a pink ribbon in the global fight against breast cancer. Under the European Commission's Beating Cancer Plan, the EU is committed to turning the tide against cancer, including through vaccination. Our key recommendations on cancer care include: 🎗️ nuclear medicine, that saves millions of lives and represents a great source of hope in the fight against cancer; 🎗️ radionuclide targeted therapies, which are precise and often less harmful than other treatments; 🎗️ production incentives ensuring better strategic autonomy in the supply of radioisotopes. What do you associate the Single Market with? According to the latest Eurobarometer on the topic, EU citizens identify it with: ✔ free movement of goods and people; ✔ free trade; ✔ the euro; ✔ more job opportunities. We are not going to make it. The latest European Court of Auditors' report on organic farming in the EU reveals that the ambitious target of 25% organically farmed land by 2030 seems out of reach. Despite the progress made thanks to EU funds, the sector's needs continue to be overlooked. For years, we have been advocating for stronger support for organic production as it is key to achieving the EU Green Deal’s goals. Now more than ever we need greater cooperation between EU countries and more support for organic farming. Our recommendations: europa.eu/!KkVdhQ #EUGreenDeal
