🌱 The 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝗳𝗹𝗮𝘅 𝗳𝗶𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀 starts with the 𝘀𝗰𝘂𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗲, where powerful rollers break down the woody stems, separating the valuable fibers from the shives (wood particles). In the 𝗵𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 stage, thousands of pins meticulously comb through the flax, leaving only the finest fibers. The shorter fibers, known as hackle tow, are set aside for coarser yarns, while the longer, premium fibers — called line — are reserved for creating the finest textiles.

Marc Speeckaert Didier Dejaegher Charlotte Libeert Raymond Libeert GC Architecten #businessvlaanderen #kantoormeubilair #duurzaamheid #modernisering #efficiëntie #totaalrenovatie

🚜 After the retting process, specialized machines gather the flax and bundle it into 𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲 𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀, weighing approximately 300 kilograms (611 pounds) each. These impressive flax bales temporarily dot the fields, adding a touch of 𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺 to the landscape before they move on to the next stage of processing.

A month ago, Hemp4Circularity was present at the Libramont Agricultural Fair, a go-to event for farmers, bioengineers, agronomical companies, and institutions. Alongside a 4-day presence at The Biobased Village with Valbiom, an entire day was dedicated to hemp, with an enlighted conference and a networking moment 🤝 🎤 While the ‘Easy Turner’ machine from Hyler® was quick to catch the eye of the visitors, the quality of interactions showcased the growing interest of farmers, agricultural companies and designers for long-fibre hemp, as a promising fibre for the textile industry🌿 More highlights of those 4 days : https://lnkd.in/ewgtMWy4 🌟 #longfibrehemp #Libramont #textilehemp #networking La Foire de Libramont
