🌿 𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗡𝗲𝘄𝘀: POLYMEER Project 𝗛𝗮𝘀 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗟𝗮𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱! 🌿 We’re excited to share that Normec OWS will be part of the POLYMEER Project, an initiative funded by the Circular Bio-Based Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE JU). This project focuses on transforming 𝗯𝗿𝗲𝘄𝗲𝗿𝘀’ 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻 (#𝗕𝗦𝗚) into 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗯𝗶𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘀, advancing the shift away from traditional plastics. Leading our efforts from the Normec OWS side will be Steven Verstichel, our Division Manager at BCDE (Biodegradation, Composting, Disintegration, Environmental Safety). Over the next four years, POLYMEER will develop 𝗰𝘂𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴-𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝗯𝗶𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀 for use in 𝗮𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲, 𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴. Our Business Development Director, Sam Deconinck, recently attended AMI's Bioplastics Conference in Cincinnati, OH, and visited our biodegradability and compostability laboratory in Kettering, OH. The visit included productive discussions focused on expanding our US laboratory capabilities.
