Dr. Marleen Finoulst, coordinator of Pink Ribbon Belgium's Knowledge Center, joined us for a (pink) Lunch & Learn to discuss her book, Omhelzingen/Étreintes. It shares personal stories of those close to people with breast cancer, combined with expert insights. Based on a 2023 survey, the book highlights how loved ones feel it’s taboo to mention that people still die from breast cancer and that only those who've experienced it truly understand its challenges. The book reminds us that breast cancer isn't "just pink" and highlights the burden and taboos around it. It also, in Marleen’s words, acts as a "warm blanket," showing us what people are capable of. 💗 For more information about the book & the survey: NL: https://lnkd.in/e7xJST3h FR: https://lnkd.in/eJk2NeCx #ReimagineMedicine #NovartisTogether #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth #BreastCancer

Nuclear medicine experts from all over Europe gather these days at the EANM (European Association of Nuclear Medicine) Congress. Our team is also present to engage with leading experts, dive into groundbreaking research and discuss the future of nuclear medicine. Part of that future is radioligand therapy. ✨ At Novartis, we are dedicated to reimagining cancer treatment through this type of innovative treatments that can give people living with cancer a better and longer life with their loved ones. To improve the access to radioligand therapy, we are working together with multiple stakeholders – healthcare professionals, hospitals, research institutes, patient organisations and more – on implementing the recently launched Belgian RLT action plan. 🚀 #EANM2024 #ReimagineMedicine #NovartisTogether #RadioligandTherapy

We grab World Arthritis Day as an additional moment to raise awareness about arthritis and other rheumatic diseases which affect 1 in 5 people and 1 in 1000 children in Belgium*. It’s crucial that the more than 80,000 people in Belgium* living with rheumatoid arthritis, their loved ones and healthcare professionals have access to the right care and resources. That’s why this year’s theme, ‘Informed Choices, Better Outcomes’ resonates strongly. A special shoutout to Rheuma.be (KBVR- SRBR) (an initiative of KBVR-SRBR, patient organisations ReumaNet, CLAIR and healthcare professionals) which gathers clear information on Belgian rheumatologists and specialised centres for helping to make informed choices. #WAD2024 #WorldArthritisDay #ReimagineMedicineTogether *source: rheuma.be

Population Health Management not only makes a difference for patients, but also for general practice. 📣 In the final part of our video series, Prof. Dr. & GP Bert Vaes has a clear message for Belgian policymakers about what general practitioners across Belgium need in order to thrive: 1️⃣ Proactive Healthcare: We must evolve from a reactive care model to a proactive, preventive approach to ensure the future of general practice. 2️⃣ Support for Population Health Management: It is vital for the government to actively support initiatives that promote a proactive approach in healthcare, enhancing the effectiveness of preventive strategies. 3️⃣ Collaborative Approach: Healthcare providers, patients and policymakers must work together to tackle the challenges patients are facing. No one can do this alone! #PopulationHealthManagement #NovartisTogether

The first weekend of October, our colleagues and their families came together for a morning of plogging (jogging + picking up litter 😉) and cleaning up the Dijle in Mechelen and surrounding areas, organised by our Novartis Green Team. Equipped with canoes, paddleboards and waste grabs, over 10 bags of waste were collected. 🚮 It was a fantastic morning of shared purpose, connecting and a bit of light exercise, together with the dedicated volunteers from Ons Tehuis Brabant VZW who do regular cleanups between Mechelen and Vilvoorde. 💪 Thank you to everyone who enthusiastically joined this cleanup, helping to take tens of kilograms of waste out of our environment. 🌱 Ali Réda Benabdallah Federico Mambretti Ilse Florentie Sandra Dekoninck Ellyn O'Byrne Din Collette Imola Bokor #NovartisTogether #Plogging #GreenTeam #NovartisPeople

Population Health Management is a powerful strategy to tackle major chronic issues like heart disease right here in Belgium. Why is this approach so crucial? Prof. Dr. & GP Bert Vaes explains it to you in the next video of our video series on the topic: 🩺 Unseen Risk Factors: Many people in Belgium live with hypertension, high blood pressure or high cholesterol without even realising it—and without regular visits to the doctor. 🚫❤️ Undiagnosed Heart Conditions: Even with regular doctor visits, heart disease may still go unnoticed if doctors don't check for the right things. 🔍💪 Proactive Identification: By focusing on population health within our communities, we can identify these at-risk individuals early and take proactive steps to prevent new health problems from emerging. #PopulationHealthManagement #NovartisTogether
