P3.Express - OMIMO Community Forum 2024 Yesterday, I participated in the OMIMO community forum, held for the first time in a live-stream format, bringing together project professionals from around the globe. What is OMIMO? OMIMO stands for Open, Minimalistic, and Modular system. It supports project managers, program managers, portfolio managers, and project team members with a clear and effective methodologies. What is P3.Express? P3.Express is a minimalist, libre project management system, free to use and modify without licenses. I first heard about P3.Express at the Project Day event in Helsinki this year on 17 September, where Pavel Jonis delivered a keynote that sparked some great discussions! Key takeaways from the OMIMO Forum: ◼ OMIMO has been co-funded by the European Union since 2020 and announced recently approved funding for further development. ◼ In addition to the established P3.express system (launched in 2016, with the latest update in May 2021), the following products are now available: ◾ Micro.P3.express for small project teams (1-7 people, released December 2022) ◾ P5.express for portfolio management (first version released July 2024) ◾ NUPP – Nearly Universal Principles of the Project, a set of best practices for facilitating projects, programs, and portfolios. ◼ Over 250 active contributors and 50 trainers support OMIMO. Independent User Groups will be listed on the official website, adhering to policies that ensure transparency, respect for human rights, and a non-discriminatory, apolitical stance. ◼ The Project Ecosystem comprises five modules: 1. Personal Task Management → P1.express (not announced yet) 2. Technical Management → P2.express (not announced yet) 3. Project Management → P3.express 4. Program Management → P4.express (not announced yet) 5. Portfolio Management → P5.express ◼ Partner organizations Nextcloud, XWiki, and OpenProject showcased their products for potential practical implementation of OMIMO methodologies. ◾ NextCloud: An open-source platform for secure collaboration. ◾ XWiki: An enterprise-level wiki for collaborative content creation. ◾ OpenProject: An open-source project management platform for diverse methodologies. I look forward to the evolution of the OMIMO community and its products, especially the real project cases shared by project managers across various industries.
