When mentoring Pitchdrive | Early-stage VC 🚀 portfolio startups, I often hear founders stressing about their Ideal Customer Profile (ICP). My advice to early stage startups? ✋ Stop thinking about the ICP immediately ✋ It’s so tempting to lock onto your ICP as fast as possible, but this can lead to missed opportunities and misguided strategies. Daily, I’m seeing firsthand the importance of understanding your buyer personas before zeroing in on your ICP. While the term ‘ICP’ gets a lot of boardroom buzz with corporates, the real insights come from *experimenting* and *understanding* your buyers’ unique needs, challenges, and motivations.
