The Royal Belgian Football Association (RBFA) is the largest sports federation in Belgium, with over half a million members and 4,000 affiliated football clubs. Together with Voetbal Vlaanderen and ACFF, we organize thousands of matches every year, including those of our national teams: the Red Devils and Red Flames. The role of a technical director is exciting, but demanding: right in the heart of the action and faced with complex challenges, while also having to work out and implement a long-term vision. That’s why we want to help the technical directors of the future unlock the full potential of their club. In collaboration with the Pro League and the University of Antwerp we are launching a high-quality course for current and aspiring technical directors. The first session will start in September 2025. One participant has been confirmed: Simon Mignolet. He has already enrolled, aiming to continue making an impact on Belgian football even after his playing career. Vorige week verzamelde de hernieuwde en eengemaakte Commissie Veiligheid van de Pro League, Royal Belgian Football Association en SPF Intérieur - FOD Binnenlandse Zaken voor het eerst. Door de krachten te bundelen, ontstaat een efficiënter overlegplatform dat bestaat uit: ⚽ Een kerngroep, gericht op de dagelijkse realiteit van voetbalveiligheid in het profvoetbal. 💡 Een reflectiegroep, die bredere maatschappelijke vraagstukken bekijkt. L'ordre du jour de cette première réunion comprenait des sujets cruciaux tels que: ✅ le rôle du personnel de sécurité dans le football, ✅ la communication entre les différents acteurs de la sécurité, ✅ l’évaluation de la législation relative à la sécurité Ensemble, nous continuons à construire une expérience positive et sûre pour tous les fans ! 💪⚽

Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming the Walloon Minister of Sports and Sport Infrastructure, Jacqueline Galant, to our Proximus Basecamp in Tubize. Together with our colleagues from Association des Clubs Francophones de Football, we took the time to discuss several important topics in depth, including the growth of women’s football, the development of futsal, and the vital social role of local clubs and federations. With the support of Minister Galant and everyone involved, we are committed to making football in all its forms more accessible, inclusive, and stronger.
