From Suits to Cycling: Bringing My Obsession with Fit to a New Industry
If you know me, you know I’ve spent years obsessing over fit, fabric, and function—designing ( and still designing) suits with Wardenburg Tailors for the unique shapes and bold personalities of individual clients and companies seeking to express their brand image through design.
FIT has become my obsession and has shaped everything I do. The question I’ve always asked myself is: How can I add value by scaling ultra-niche knowledge? The answer? SCIMM.
I’m incredibly grateful to the amazing individuals who have mentored and inspired me on this journey: Mark Charlton, a co-obsessed fit and size specialist, industry leaders as James Carnes, Joshua Young, Sam Ratajczak, Tech and AI expert but first and foremost cycling obsessed Jeroen Van Godtsenhoven, Jeroen De Wit, guiding from Matthias Feys , and our own CTO Yannis De Cleene , Miles Marshall, Adrienne Westman Lisa De Croocq and so many more. Your passion for performance and personalization helped guide me to where I am today. Thank you to this incredible team of experts for testing, pushing, and supporting this vision! (and team Wintercircus Ghent !)
Over 2024, I explored how my obsession with fit could meet the demands of a completely different industry: cycling apparel.
Cycling isn’t just about style—it’s about performance. From compression to aerodynamics, to personal fit preferences and user experience, every stitch matters. It’s a world that shares the same obsession I have: pushing boundaries, refining every detail, and striving for excellence. And now, I’m thrilled to say: we’ve found the perfect match.
The Journey So Far
In 2024, we piloted SCIMM in the cycling world, working with teams and athletes to rethink fit. The results? Extraordinary. By connecting tailoring-level precision with innovative technology, we eliminated inefficiencies, redefined team wear, and proved that performance starts with fit.
2025: Let’s Build the Future Together
This year, I want to expand this vision and bring it to more brands, teams, and athletes. My New Year’s wish is simple: let’s connect and start conversations that drive real innovation.
Here’s how you can help:
• If you’re in cycling, let’s talk.
• If you know someone in the industry, tag them below or send them my way.
• Let’s explore how we can eliminate inefficiencies, push boundaries, and create a new standard for fit, function, and performance.
Cycling has the passion, precision, and drive I love. Now, let’s take it to the next level—together.
Happy New Year! Let’s ride into 2025 with bold ideas and exciting connections.
Warm wishes,
Your Tailor Tessa
