🚨 Children are not small adults! 🚨 💊 Paediatric cancers differ significantly from adult cancers. Yet, in the past decade, only 16 new childhood cancer drugs were approved, compared to 150 for adults. The EU Pharmaceutical Legislation lacks incentives for first-in-child drug development, leaving paediatric cancer patients with limited treatment options. 🔬 What we need is a dedicated first-in-child marketing authorisation incentive to encourage pharma companies to develop lifesaving paediatric medicines. 📌 Our main policy recommendations: ✔️ 12 years of market exclusivity for orphan drugs addressing high unmet medical needs in paediatric cancer. ✔️ Increased investment in paediatric drug development—helping reduce long-term healthcare costs. 📩 What can you do?
