Access to safe and nutritious foods is especially important for people with special dietary needs ➡ our industry provides science-based foods to support the health, wellbeing and specific dietary needs of people of all ages, from infant formula and fortified complementary foods to foods for special medical purposes, gluten-free foods and sport foods. 🔬✅ We also support the work of #CodexAlimentarius in establishing science-based food standards that ensure food safety and quality. 🤝 World Food Day is an important opportunity to recognise the #RightToFood and acknowledge the need for us all to work together to make that right a reality for a better life and a better future. #SpecialisedNutrition #FSDU

This was another active week engaging on specialised nutrition issues in Brussels on behalf of Dairy Industry Ireland Ibec members, including; 🤝 Annual General assembly and committee meetings hosted by SNE - Specialised Nutrition Europe with colleagues from across 19 national associations - all focused on the provision of safe, innovative and suitable nutritional products for people of all ages. Thank you SNE President Marie-France Pagerey and SNE team Beat Späth Ana Paula Cruz Patrik Dlužanin Kata HÉJJAS 👏 💬 Dedicated session on the science and facts around #Food processing and #Fortification with panel experts providing the scientific, consumer and civil society sector perspectives. 🏛️ Welcomed new fellow members to our governing board with whom I very much look forward to working with. 🌐 The week was rounded off at Ibec Global at the launch of EU policy priorities for 2024-2029, which included insights from European Commissioner-designate for Democracy, Justice and the Rule of Law, Michael McGrath.

✨ It’s a wrap! ✨   Our SNE General Assembly 2024, held above the rooftops of Brussels, brought together 70 members from across Europe, and it was an incredible success! 🚀 Together, we engaged in hands-on workshops and many great discussions. On top of that, we:   - Unanimously adopted our ambitious new SNE strategy, budget, and modernised statutes. ✔️ - Networked and connected with members of the SNE community and stakeholders. 🤝 - Inaugurated our enlarged board, enriched with even more expertise! 🌍 - Engaged in numerous insightful discussions, including an inspiring panel discussion featuring external stakeholders, broadening our perspectives on food processing. 🎤   A HUGE thank you to everyone who made this possible - the dedicated SNE team, our President, the Board, our speakers, chairs and vice-chairs, and all the members who participated!
