REQUEST TO THE TECHNOVATION COMMUNITY At Technovation Elsevier we strive to disseminate and acknowledge our research papers’ relevance by driving societal transformation, whether it be at the policymaking, administrative, managerial, or economic levels. In light of this, we encourage our colleagues, who have previously contributed to Technovation Elsevier, to inform us of the impact their paper(s) may have had. This impact could manifest through various avenues, such as informing and stimulating new policy and academic discussions, influencing the development and management of innovative technologies (e.g., patents), creating new managerial tools, influencing actions or changing the mindset of practitioners, initiating projects that engage society, or even embarking on impact activities such as public engagement in person or through media platforms. Evidence of such relevance can include, but not be limited to, reports, web links or other publicly available sources of information about organizations, including in society, industry, charities and government, that benefited from research outputs published in Technovation Elsevier, as well as statements provided by beneficiaries and empirical metrics demonstrating the impact. We would appreciate if you could please get in touch with us to provide us with further evidence. Georgina.Jiang@elsevier.com Thank you!!!

We say goodbye to October by presenting a recent Technovation paper that discusses the goal and performance heterogeneity of academic spinoffs 👏 By: Alice Civera, Alfredo De Massis, Michele Meoli, Silvio Vismara Research Highlights • Performances of academic spinoffs are due to motivations and goals. • Extrinsic monetary motivations are more likely to lead to generate higher profits. • Extrinsic reputational motivations are more likely to lead to higher growth. • Intrinsic motivations are more likely to lead to longer survive. • The effects of motivations are negatively moderated by the team's complexity. As algorithms powered by AI are increasingly involved in the management of organizations, it becomes imperative to conduct human-centered AI management research and understand people's feelings and behaviors when machines gain power over humans. Want to find out how? Check one of the latest papers in Technovation👇 https://lnkd.in/dSbTTPhh By: Mengchen Dong, Ph.D., Jean-Francois Bonnefon, Iyad Rahwan Research Highlights • Human reactions to AI management can be biased in vignette and case studies. • Vignette studies are biased by forecasting error, media coverage, and question substitution. • Case studies are biased by social desirability and lack of randomization and control. • Field experiments on crowdsourced marketplaces can mitigate these limitations. • One field experiment on Mturk shows similar human reactions to AI and human managers. #AI #AlgorithmicManagement #AlgorithmAversion #AlgorithmAppreciation #FutureOfWork #WorkDesign #Crowdsourcing
