Today, Textile ETP published the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) for the "Textiles of the Future" European Partnership. Developed in a collaborative effort involving hundreds of experts from across the European textile ecosystem, the SRIA identifies 13 strategic topics in 3 main priority areas: 🌿 Sustainable Materials & Clean Processes ♻ Digital Supply Chains & New Business Models 🏭 Advanced Manufacturing & High-performance Textiles The vision of the Partnership is to develop and demonstrate new technologies and innovative business models for the competitive manufacturing of safe and sustainable textile products. These products will be made from low-impact functional materials using clean and digitally connected processes within regional, circular, and fully traceable supply chains. This will promote quality jobs, industrial competitiveness, and responsible consumption in Europe. As a next step, dedicated calls for proposals will be launched under Cluster 4 of the Horizon Europe programme between 2025 and 2027, reflecting the priorities set out in the SRIA. In this initial phase, at least €60 million will be allocated by public and private stakeholders to core research and innovation actions and to support accelerated exploitation actions, including demonstration, pilot testing, new manufacturing facility setups, early market replication, and start-up creation. Earlier this month, Textile ETP participated in the final TRICK Project general assembly, that was held in Milan, ahead of the #ECOSYSTEXconference. Despite the fact that the project will end in a couple of weeks, we used this opportunity to recap the activities related to TRICK's exploitation and scale-up strategy, and exchange ideas on standardisation and public and civil society involvement in contributing to circular economy policies♻️ Within TRICK, we are proud to have accomplished: 💻 a platform for data collection, secured by Blockchain 🔎 standardised commercial services for traceability and transparency 🎽 PEF studies for traditional and technical textiles 📜 insight on Ecodesign policies and demo for the Digital Product Passport
