As we dive into identifying #environmental hotspots within #shipbuilding, our focus is clear: enhancing #circularity from #shipyard processes all the way through the #ship’s #lifecycle. 💡 Here’s what we’ve accomplished so far 💡 🔍 SubTask 1: Environmental Impact Analysis We’re currently analyzing processes at Azimut Group (composite #boats) and Astilleros de Santander S.A.U. (steel #vessels). Our reference #vessels, the Azimut Group's 60 feet and Danaos Shipping Co. Ltd Zim Luanda, are paving the way for a comprehensive #lifecycle #assessment. We’re meticulously cataloging #materials to assess #recyclability and hazards, uncovering challenges with #materials like fiberglass and vinyl ester resin along the way. ♻️ SubTask 2: End-of-Life Strategies Working with CETMA, we're developing innovative strategies for #recycling and repurposing #materials.
