🏙 The Directors-General for Urban Matters of each member state, Partner States, EU Institutions and partners organisations met to exchange on policies related to urban matters.   ✔ The Belgian Presidency on urban matters presented its conclusions on the 3 main messages arising from its 6 months Presidency: 1. Continuing the implementation of the Urban Agenda for the EU 2. Recognising the role of place-based approach, spatial planning and metropolitan governance as means of tackling future urban challenges 3. Acknowledging the call from cities for an ambitious European urban policy for 2024-2029   🤝The Directors General on Urban Matters agreed to launch the process for two new partnerships under the Urban agenda for the EU: - “Water sensitive city” - “Building decarbonisation: Integrated renovation programmes and local heating and cooling plans“ #EU2024BE | perspective.brussels | Brussels International

On 25 and 26 June, the European Migration Network (EMN) Conference intends to present the work done by the European Commission and the Belgian Presidency to operationalise and implement the New Pact on Migration and Asylum, while, at the same time, launching the debate on the upcoming steps to make the New Pact a reality. The New Pact on Migration and Asylum constitutes a set of regulations and policies to establish a new migration and asylum process for the European Union (EU). After the adoption of the Pact in April 2024, marking the conclusion of the legislative process, the focus has turned to the implementation and operationalisation of the new legislation. The European Migration Network (EMN), which is coordinated by the European Commission, provides up-to-date, objective, reliable, and comparable information on migration and asylum to support policy-making in the European Union, and its observer countries.
