Through the implementation of a #GS1 standards-based approach, the pilot achieved: ✔️ Improved #traceability of insecticide-treated bed nets (#ITNs), ensuring accurate delivery to households for #malaria prevention. ✔️ #Enhanced efficiency in ITN distribution, reducing delivery times and improving stock accountability. ✔️ #Identification of best practices for label placement, such as using the GS1 #DataMatrix barcode for easier #scanning. ✔️ #Resolution of key #technical challenges, such as training operators, optimising scanning in low-light conditions, and addressing duplicate #scan issues. This initiative reflects the #collaborative efforts of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) and #partners, advancing public #health by ensuring safer and more efficient health commodity distribution. Effective from 16 October 2024, this landmark regulation is a major step towards ensuring the #safety, #quality, and #authenticity of #medicines in #Nigeria.
