JBBA with active support and participation in the Japan-Bulgaria Business Forum, organized by Japan External Trade Office (JETRO) and the Bulgarian Investment Agency, on 15 October 2024 in Sofia. The forum is part of the two-day visit in Sofia by a delegation of more than 70 leading Japanese companies lead by JETRO’s president Susumu Kataoka. JBBA’s Chairman, Todor Kesimov, emphasized the support JBBA could provide to potential investors, sharing examples of the activities of the association to the benefit of its existing members. The association was recognized as a valuable partner by the Embassy of Japan in Bulgaria and the representatives of JETRO in Bucharest, Vienna and Sofia who attended the event. #JapanBulgariaForum #BusinessGrowth #JETRO #JBBA

We’re thrilled to announce a new milestone in the partnership between Japan and Bulgaria! 🇯🇵🇧🇬 In the presence of the Minister of Economy and Industry Dr. Petko Nikolov and H.E. Hisashi Michigami, Ambassador of Japan to Bulgaria, LB BULGARICUM and Japan’s Meiji signed a strategic 10-year partnership agreement to create a state-of-the-art joint research laboratory in Sofia. This new facility will focus on exploring the health benefits of Bulgarian yoghurt and lactic acid bacteria, combining the expertise of both nations. The collaboration aims to deliver groundbreaking innovations for human health and longevity, strengthening the Bulgarian dairy industry's global footprint. This partnership is a testament to over 50 years of successful collaboration between LB Bulgaricum and Meiji. Thanks to them, Bulgarian yoghurt has been produced in Japan for decades and has become one of the most recognizable brands in the industry. On June 25, 2024, the third annual meeting of JBBA was held, hosted by the Japanese Embassy in Bulgaria. The event also celebrated three remarkable anniversaries in the relations between Bulgaria and Japan - 115 years of first official contacts, 85 years since establishment of diplomatic relations, and 65 years since their resumption. During the meeting the collaboration between JBBA and the Embassy for promoting Japanese investments was reconfirmed and next initiatives were defined. H.E. Hisashi Michigami announced that a Japanese business delegation will visit Bulgaria in October 2024 to explore new opportunities. JBBA Chairman Todor Kesimov emphasized the association's role in promoting Japanese business in Bulgaria and supporting potential investors. JBBA is also participating in preparation for Bulgaria's participation in Osaka Expo 2025. 🇧🇬 ЕКСПО ОСАКА 2025 🇯🇵 Официално стартирахме изграждането на Българския павилион в Осака със специална церемония в духа на традициите и културата на Япония. В този специален момент се включиха Н.Пр. Мариета Арабаджиева, нашият посланик в Япония, Красимир Иванов, СТИВ Токио, представители на Японско-Българската асоциация и, разбира се, наемодателите ни от DAIWA Lease, в лицето на президента им, г-н Кита и екипа ангажиран с проекта. Проведохме и работна среща с DAIWA, най-голямата компания в Япония за предоставяне на площи под наем, с които конструктивно обсъдихме напредъка на нашия павилион. С нетърпение очакваме всяка следваща стъпка, която ще направим, за да представим страната ни по най-добрия начин. Не на последно място, сме тук и за срещата на всички държави с организаторите на ЕКСПО-то, където получихме допълнителна информация и уточнения за това мащабно събитие, което ще се проведе от април до октомври 2025 г.
