Bulgarian business is complaining about the lack of workers. Need is detected at any level - from highly qualified to not qualified employees. And in many sectors such as tourism, industry, construction, IT etc. This became main topic for discussion at the 5th Annual Business Networking Meeting, organized in Sofia by 13 bilateral industrial chambers. The main commercial organizations in Bulgaria plan to ask the government to simplify the procedures for transfer of workers from India due to their knowledge of English and general diligent-working culture.

We are proud to successfully deliver to the Ministry of Justice the legal amendments that will facilitate the execution of the European Court of Human Rights‘ judgements in Bulgaria. During an event, organized by the Ministry, our team presented to representatives of the executive and judicial power a detailed legal analysis of the reasons for inefficient implementation of ECHR judgements in Bulgaria (180 cases pending for implementation) and draft by-laws. Important part of the 6 months project was the comparative study of good practices in other European countries in which our team was supported by law firms from the Interlaw Ltd. global network. The project is part of the Bulgarian judicial reform and is financed by the Norwegian Financial Mechanism. The team, composed of senior partner Severina Liubenova, partner Dimitar Delchev, senior associate Bilyana Manova and associates Nedko Radev and Desislava Shopova were distinguished by the MJ project coordinator Maria Dimitrova for its work.

After intense two days in Strasbourg, the teams of Bulgarian Ministry of Justice and Andrey Delchev & Partners - Eurolex identified the key solutions of other EU countries to strengthen their rule of law. Thanks to the department for execution of ECHR judgements, we got better idea for Bulgaria's pending cases - restitution of land, expulsion of foreigners, conditions in prisons etc. Agents of Croatia, Slovenia, Greece and Poland gave us specific mechanisms from their practices. In conclusion - Bulgaria is 8 to 10 years behind other Eastern European countries and needs leadership to make it up. The legal experts already have the solutions.
