SULB has recently taken part in the GLOBAL STEEL SUMMIT which was held on 10 and 11 September at the Ritz Carlton in Dubai. The flagship event is a collective initiative that gathers major global stakeholders in the steel industry and provides a platform to discuss the latest industry updates, as well as build networking and future partnership opportunities. Mr. Afroz Iqbal, Deputy General Manager of Sales at SULB Bahrain, participated in a panel discussion on Long Steel Products, where he shared his years of expertise and insight into the topic. A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was recently signed between the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, and A.P. Moller – Maersk to evaluate and establish a ship recycling initiative in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The signing ceremony was also attended by strategic partners taking part in the project, which included the Arab Shipbuilding and Repair Yard Company (ASRY), SULB Company, and APM Terminals Bahrain, the operator of Khalifa Bin Salman Port and a subsidiary of A.P. Moller – Maersk. According to the MoU, the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications and the Ministry of Industry and Commerce will provide regulatory support to ASRY, which will oversee equipping the yard and docks for ship recycling. A.P. Moller – Maersk will act as the technical and operational advisor, ensuring the implementation of sustainable practices in the ship recycling process. Notably, SULB will play a vital role by utilizing the steel from this process, further processing and recycling it for both local and international markets, thereby contributing significantly to sustainable development in the region. وقعت كل من وزارة المواصلات والاتصالات ووزارة الصناعة والتجارة مذكرة تفاهم مؤخراً مع شركة ايه بي مولار - ميرسك للتعاون لتطوير وإنشاء صناعة "إعادة تدوير السفن"، في مملكة البحرين، وذلك بحضور الشركاء الاستراتيجيين وهم: الشركة العربية لبناء وإصلاح السفن "أسري" وشركة صلب البحرين وشركة إيه بي إم تيرمينالز البحرين - الشركة المشغلة لميناء خليفة بن سلمان. وتهدف المذكرة إلى تعزيز العمل المشترك والبحث والتطوير في مجال إعادة تدوير السفن بطريقة آمنة ومستدامة بين الشركات ذات الصلة، وهي المذكرة الأولى من نوعها في هذا المجال بمملكة البحرين. وحسب المذكرة، سوف تقوم كل من وزارة المواصلات والاتصالات ووزارة الصناعة والتجارة بتوفير الدعم التنظيمي للشركة العربية لبناء وإصلاح السفن "أسري" و التي سوف تكون المسؤولة عن تهيئة الأحواض والساحات المستخدمة في عملية تدوير السفن والعمل على استيعاب السفن الأكبر حجمًا على أن تساهم شركة ايه بي مولار – ميرسك، والتي تعد من أكبر الشركات العاملة في مجال الحاويات والشحن على مستوى العالم، في استقطاب السفن لإعادة تدويرها بالإضافة إلى تسخير خبراتها للعمل كمستشاراً لعمليات إعادة التدوير بما يتوافق مع الشروط والمتطلبات الدولية بهذا الخصوص، وبالمقابل ستقوم شركة صلب البحرين باستقبال الحديد الناتج من عملية إعادة التدوير ومعالجته ليتم عرضه في السوق المحلية والعالمية. #sulb #sulbbahrain #saudisulb #ksa #bahrain #steel #bahrainsteel #صلب #صلب_البحرين #حديد

Sulb is thrilled to share the incredible achievement of hitting record-breaking production numbers in 2023 across all sections in our plants! Melt Shop soared to 1.265 Million Tonnes, Direct Reduction Plant (DRP) hit an impressive 1.619 Million Tonnes, and Heavy Section Mill (HSM) achieved a remarkable target at 653,000 Tonnes. Moreover, Saudi Sulb achieved a new record of producing 411,000 tonnes of light and medium sections. Huge congratulations to every team member for their hard work and dedication!
