  • 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬! BNT is pleased to give a shout out to the Bermuda Archives team for all they do for us and for Bermuda’s heritage. The Archives has long carried out significant collections management for BNT, given we have the largest private holding at this Government-run facility. We recently added to our extensive holdings by depositing various paper and photographic items that require the climate control and other high standards of collections care that the Archives provides. Our latest deposits include the Gilbert Family Bible, which is associated with ajoining BNT properties, Springfield and Gilbert Nature Reserve, in Somerset village.

  • 𝐒𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐬 If you regularly walk or are up for an adventure at Ferry Reach National Park, please help us try to find some original stonework from Ferry Point Cemetery at the park’s entrance near Martello Tower. We had father-and-son masons Belvin and Pablo Hendrickson of H&H Creations Construction Ltd. complete conservation of the cemetery’s boundary walls using generous funding from Chubb. Several pieces of the triangular capping stones are still missing. Rather than restoring them with new stone, we hope to find the historic pieces, which may still be in the area. While it is illegal to dig in a National Park, please help us search for the stonework at surface level. Can you help us rule out the stones are not there before we ask H&H to restore the missing pieces? If you think you have found a stone please leave it in place, but email charlotte.andrews@bnt.bm with a photo and its location.

  • A huge thank you to the incredible team from the Bermuda Monetary Authority (Authority or BMA) who joined us for a fantastic corporate volunteer day at Sherwin Nature Reserve! With the help of 60 dedicated volunteers, we made significant progress in both the northern and southern sections of the reserve. The morning crew focused on clearing the trail, removing invasive species, cleaning signage, mulching young trees, and planting 24 native and endemic plants. The afternoon crew took on the task of planting over 200 Crinum and Spider Lily bulbs to beautify the roadside and railway trail, spreading mulch, and adding even more native and endemic trees, shrubs, and ground covers to the southern part of the reserve. Over 120 native and endemic plants were planted during the afternoon! It was a day full of hard work, laughter, and incredible teamwork. Thank you to everyone for helping us preserve Bermuda’s unique environment!
