On 24 October 2024, we hosted an important Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) Capacity Building session at the Collaboration Hub in RB Campus, with the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and the Department of Civil Aviation Brunei. This session highlighted Brunei's potential to develop its own SAF industry, leveraging the country's existing infrastructure and resources to produce low-carbon aviation fuels. At Royal Brunei Airlines, our commitment to sustainable aviation, innovation, and technology is unwavering. Today, we also introduced RB's first AI-powered emcee, Aira, an AI avatar based on our very own cabin crew. Aira was designed to assist us with our events, which is a testament to our relentless pursuit of excellence in service, technology, and sustainability.

In August 2024, Royal Brunei Airlines was honored to support 2-month-old Arabella Gilvanni Anak Zulhelmi, sponsoring her and her family’s travel for life-saving cardiac surgery in Kuala Lumpur, which was funded by Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah. This gesture reflects our Ikhlas From The Heart service philosophy, launching as part of RB’s 50th Anniversary this November. For five decades, RB has proudly connected Brunei to the world while offering compassionate assistance to those in need. As we approach our 50th anniversary this November, we celebrate the anniversary of our Boeing 787 Dreamliner, The Betterfly, which first took off 11 years ago. Since then, it has celebrated some incredible milestones, such as being the first Dreamliner in South East Asia and its 10th-anniversary last year, not to mention many milestones with our Captain Czarena and guests, whether reconnecting with friends and families or enjoying their holidays. As we mark our road to our 50th anniversary on this coming 18 November 2024, Team RB, together with Brunei Gas Carriers, Brunei Shell Marketing and Maritime and Port Authority Brunei Darussalam, joined hands on a mission to protect Brunei's sand, sea and sky with a tree planting and beach clean-up at the Berakas Forest Reserve on Monday, 30 September 2024. We are pleased to report that we collected almost 50kg of garbage from the beach and planted 175 Kapur Bukit saplings!
