bp 𝐑𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐬 𝐄𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐋𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐓𝐮𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐛á Earlier this month, bp started the licensing process to drill up to three wells on their Tupinambá block, located in the Santos basin. According to the available documents, they plan to drill at least one well in 2026, with the other two contingent on the results of the first one. Tupinambá was acquired on the 2nd Open Acreage Production Sharing Round for approximately 7 million BRL. The company is also licensing multiple wells on the nearby Bumerangue block, where they plan to drill next year according to the process schedule. 𝐅𝐏𝐒𝐎 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚 𝐐𝐮𝐢𝐭é𝐫𝐢𝐚 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐎𝐢𝐥 𝐢𝐧 𝐉𝐮𝐛𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞 On Tuesday, October 15th, Petrobras announced FPSO Maria Quitéria’s first oil in the Campos Basin. The production unit, located near the Espírito Santo coast in the Jubarte field (fully owned by Petrobras), was designed to produce up to 100,000 barrels of oil and process 5 million cubic meters of gas daily. Once fully operational, Maria Quitéria will be connected to eight producing wells and eight injectors and is expected to account for 40% of the field's production, joining Petrobras 57, Petrobras 58, and Cidade de Anchieta FPSOs in the Parque das Baleias project. PRIO Acquires 40% Stake in 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐨 and 𝐏𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐨𝐥𝐚 Fields Last Friday, September 27th, PRIO confirmed the acquisition of 𝐒𝐢𝐧𝐨𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐦's stake in the Peregrino and Pitangola fields, valued at $1.915 billion. The Brazilian company now joins Equinor, which operates the fields and holds the other 60%. Peregrino has been producing since 2011, and currently features three fixed platforms (Peregrino A, B and C) and an FPSO to process and store the production. During the “phase 2” of development, started in 2022, Equinor managed to ramp up the production to around 100,000 bopd in the latter half of 2023. It currently sits around 80,000 bbl/day, still one of the biggest non pre-salt producers in the country. In addition to Peregrino and Pitangola, PRIO operates other assets in the Campos Basin, including the fields Albacora Leste, Frade, Polvo, Tubarão-Martelo, and Wahoo, as well as the C-M-61 and C-M-101 blocks. 𝐀𝐍𝐏 Approves Tender Protocol Draft for Production Sharing Blocks 14 blocks were included for the next Open Acreage (OPP) Round: Ágata, Amazonita, Ametista, Citrino, Esmeralda, Itaimbezinho, Jade, Jaspe, Larimar, Mogno, Ônix, Safira Leste, Safira Oeste and Turmalina. The draft now needs to be approved by the Ministry of Energy, as well as go through public consultation, with the bid itself expected to take place next year. Some changes include the new regulations regarding local content, companies being able to present bid bonds without the need to submit a declaration of interest, and the qualification phase being moved after the presentation of offers.
