Sigma Lithium was honored to participate in FII8 - Future Investment Initiatives FII Institute in Saudi Arabia. Our panel gathered leaders of the chemical and mining & metals industries to address the pivotal question for the energy transition: “FUTURE OF RESOURCES: ARE CLEAN INDUSTRIES ACHIEVABLE?” Our CEO Ana Cabral joined Vale’s CEO Gustavo Pimenta, The iconic Robert Friedland, founder of Ivanhoe Mines, Abdulrahman Al-Fageeh, CEO & Executive Board Member of SABIC and Robert Wil CEO of Ma'aden. All took center stage for an insightful discussion regarding how to tackle the challenges to adopt cleaner technologies while ensuring a reliable, and cycle-resilient supply of critical minerals, as the world aims for a more sustainable future. They also addressed how not only miners but all participants of the supply chain have a key role to play and a responsibility to ensure that cost pressures do not bring back unethical sourcing and lack of traceability arising from shortcutting: saving opex and capex at the expense of sustainability Expertly moderated by Naser El Tibi Al Arabiya, the panel concluded and answered the key question: Can the transition happen responsibly, ensuring these essential resources are managed ethically? Absolutely, if all downstream buyers, starting with carmakers, battery makers, refiners come together to ensure that mining lifts the people …. Becoming a vector for a just energy transition.

During the “Navigating a Divided World” panel at the Bloomberg New Economy at B20 in São Paulo, our CEO, Ana Cabral, emphasized how Brazil’s industrial policy has been essential to the country’s economic growth and Sigma Lithium’s rapid success. This strong foundation has allowed us to scale operations efficiently and become key contributors to the global energy transition. The panel featured leaders such as former US-Ambassador for China and Russia Jon Huntsman Huntsman from Mastercard and Wesley Batista from JBS who explored how businesses and countries must balance relationships and remain agile in a divided world. The conversation reinforced that no market or company can thrive in isolation—openness and adaptability are essential for sustainable growth.

During the Financial Times Mining Summit, Sigma Lithium Chairperson and CEO Ana Cabral weighs in on the crucial issue of supply chains and the need for accountability and high ethical standards. Market participants should work to “build supply chain resilience without building inefficiencies,” Cabral told @Fastmarkets’ @Solomon Cefai on the sidelines of the event in London. “Transparency makes lives easier, so introduce traceability and let the companies decide.” Greater traceability and transparency, especially among low-cost lithium producers, will enable clients to choose their suppliers based on their ethical standards, such as labor rights and environmental responsibility, Cabral said in a panel discussion at the Mining Summit. This is particularly important now as the market gravitates towards low-cost jurisdictions, she said. “The supply chain will reorganize itself around logical supply chains and, in the case of lithium, particularly around ethical and easy waste recycling,” she told Fastmarkets. Sigma Lithium recycles 100% of the water used at its Grota do Cirilo mining and processing facility in Brazil. We dry stack tailings from the production process, resulting in non-hazardous materials that are then used by other industries. Read the full report by Fastmarkets here: https://lnkd.in/d-rRF-W3
