About us

First National Bank Botswana (FNBB) was registered in 1991, as a wholly owned subsidiary of First National Bank Holdings (Botswana). Various acquisitions led to the Bank becoming a listed entity on the Botswana Stock Exchange Limited (BSEL) in 1993. Over the last the last 28 years of operation, we have grown to become the most profitable bank in Botswana with the most diversified balance sheet structured to achieve sustainable profits. Our extensive countrywide branch and Automated Teller Machine (ATM) networks combined with the FNB App, Online Banking and Cellphone Banking enable us to provide greater convenient service to our Customers. In 2001, FNBB established the FNBB Foundation, a corporate social responsibility arm of the Bank through which we continue to invest and uplift our communities whilst contributing to the sustainable development of Botswana. We continue to support initiatives aimed at improving the lives of those that are underprivileged.

Dr. Mbako Mbo, the Chief Financial Officer of FNB Botswana, provides insights into our solid PBT growth, underscoring our steadfast dedication to financial excellence. ”Bank income is 21% up year on year, driven by both lending (36% up) and non-lending income (7% up). Both streams were driven by business momentum across all key product lines and segments. Our balance sheet is 22% up, driven mainly by customer advances, which grew 14% year on year(P2.2 billion). The growth in customer deposits was supportive of the asset growth, with customer deposits growing 29% year on year.   Looking forward, we will focus on sustainability financing support to key sectors of the economy, customer centricity and innovation, and credit discipline to drive continued growth." #FNBBFinancialResults2024 #FNBB

FNB Botswana Strengthens National Security in Partnership with the Bankers Association.   At FNB Botswana, we believe in supporting the communities we serve. Today, as part of the Bankers Association of Botswana, we proudly contributed to the donation of 12 Toyota Hilux GD6 vehicles to the Government of Botswana. These all-terrain vehicles, handed over to the Botswana Police under the Ministry of Defence and Security, will support efforts to combat the rise in cash-in-transit heists and Automated Teller Machines (ATM) raids, enhancing security for the banking sector, our clients, and the public.   Together, we are committed to protecting the safety of our clients and the public.   #FNBB #LoveFNBB
