Entrevestor.com recently covered our funding progress, highlighting how we're halfway through our bridge raise and planning a $10M seed round to build our pilot reactor at the Verschuren Centre in Sydney, Cape Breton. Our patented net-negative system integrates hydrogen production and carbon capture in a single, efficient process, creating sustainable fuels while storing excess carbon. This "two-for-one" approach generates multiple revenue streams (eFuels, carbon credits, hyper-pure water) while eliminating costly energy storage requirements. Many thanks to Cape Breton Capital Group & their GPs for their support as we build toward commercialization. #ClimateInnovation #CarbonRemoval #CleanEnergy #CapeBreton #Islandlife

Want to learn how baking and carbon capture intersect? Aeon Blue's CTO, Deóis Ua Cearnaigh, breaks down our pH Swing carbon capture technology with Lydia Chen for Bite-Size Climate Tech. Thanks Lydia for the opportunity!
🍞 What Does Baking Bread Have to Do with Carbon Capture? 🌍 In this episode of Bite-Size Climate Tech, we dive into pH Swing, a technique in Carbon Capture with Deóis Ua Cearnaigh, CTO of Aeon Blue. This chemical process allows allows scientists and engineers to capture CO₂ and then release it, making it an important technique for carbon removal. But how does it work? We break it down using a baking bread analogy—just like you need both sour (yogurt) and bitter (baking soda) to make the perfect loaf, pH Swing relies on acidity shifts to absorb and later release CO₂. 🔬 What you’ll learn in this episode: 💡 What pH Swing is and how it works for carbon removal. 💡 Why shifting acidity levels is key to this technology. 💡 A baking-inspired analogy to make sense of the science! This conversation breaks down a complex concept into something fun and relatable—watch, listen, and let’s chat! 🎧 Listen on Spotify: https://lnkd.in/ea3ZVQUX 📺 Watch the full episode on YouTube: https://lnkd.in/eangeNDQ 🛒 Support the podcast: https://lnkd.in/e5EDQ6JV What’s your take on pH Swing Carbon Capture? Fueling a cleaner future is our reason for being here. We chose Cape Breton, Nova Scotia for its perfect combination of resources: abundant seawater for our proprietary electrolyzer, strong winds, and the Horton Group formation for carbon storage. Our facility will deliver cost-effective sustainable eFuels while permanently removing a surplus of CO2 from the air. Our call to action is the climate, and our path is to remove legacy carbon as well as stopping additional carbon from entering the atmosphere in the first place. We do both, with a carcinogen-free fuel that can go right into your car. Right into a ship. Right into a plane. Our co-founders Lark Meadow and Deóis Ua Cearnaigh “Doc" look forward to sharing our story with the Investment Club hosted by Peter Hickey in Halifax on February 13th. If you're an accredited investor interested in attending either virtually or in-person, reach out to him for registration details. #aeonblue #efuels #carbonremoval #dac #sustainablefuels #cleantech

🌊 Riding the Wave of Innovation: Why the Blue Economy is One to Watch for 2025 As someone deeply invested in the future of sustainable transportation, I'm always on the lookout for technologies that can truly move the needle on decarbonisation. This week, I'm highlighting four climate tech sectors that I believe have the power to make a real difference. First up: the often overlooked potential of the blue economy. I'm fascinated by the innovative ways companies are using our oceans. For example, there is a growing list of Direct Ocean Capture companies, many based in the Netherlands, which is becoming a hub for the technology. One of them is Pure Carbon Blue, which aims to remove a gigaton of CO2 through Direct Ocean Capture by 2030— a huge amount. I'm particularly interested in the potential of seawater electrolysis, which can produce clean hydrogen that could be used as an E-fuel feedstock. Companies like Brineworks and Aeon Blue are pioneering this technology, and I believe it could be a key component of a more sustainable aviation ecosystem. Then, there are companies actively looking at seaweed and algae as a source of alternative fuels. Rum and Sargassum in Barbados, is taking rum waste and seaweed to create biofuels. My latest article at Sustainability in the Air looks in more detail about why I'm riding this wave of innovation in 2025: https://lnkd.in/ef-7ave4 (Image via Brineworks) #blueeconomy #climatetech #sustainableaviation #oceanbasedsolutions #seawater #electrolysis
