Thank you Susan Namulindwa for your #leadership and sharing simple ways of interacting with the #CanadaAfrica Strategy. TFO Canada #Tradewithafrica #theafricathawewant
Executive Director at Africa Trade Desk, VP Canada, Canada-Africa Chamber of Business, Director Maama Watali, Board Chair Afro-Canadian Chamber of Commerce
It was a privilege to be invited by the Government of Canada to the launch of the #CanadaAfrica Strategy! As I sat in that room, I was grateful for all the individuals and organizations that have worked tirelessly to get the #conversations to this point. Hundreds of consultations, submissions and hours of back and forth edits, etc NOW WHAT? Does this document solve all the issues or address every thing that needs to be put in place? NO This #Strategy needs to be viewed not as a be all do all for the Canada-Africa relationship but as a starting point. Collectively, especially the #africandiaspora, and #friendsofafrica from all walks of life, we need to repurpose the famous words: "Ask not what the Strategy can do for you, but what you can do with it! Starting with myself * As a #Trade Champion, I shared in that room that I see where #tradingwithafrica can support all the 5 pillars in the document! I am happy to angage on that with anyone starting with the event that Africa Trade Desk is hosting on April 2nd * As an active member of the African Diaspora, I can see where we can support by uniting, each of us lighting our candle to create a huge light and a mighty force to bring actionable ideas to the table * As a supporter of #women and #womenempowerment I can see how I can #rally behind improving the #economic well-being of women through Trade and how this can in turn create stability in families leading to overall peace. CALL TO ACTION Find a sentence, paragraph, page in the document that aligns with your personal, organizational values or goals and get behind it. Get the document, own that piece and run with it. This is a great example of #collaboration that drives results! An idea whose time thas come. We are looking forward to amplifying the message. #trade #innovation #SME #Canadiansolutions
With looming U.S. tariffs threatening Canadian SMEs, the question isn’t just how to compete—but how to survive. The "Up Our Game, Canada!" initiative offers a game-changing strategy to help SMEs adapt and secure their futures. Led by Associate Professor Tony Bailetti from the Sprott School of Business at Carleton University, the program equips SMEs with AI-powered tools, digital training and a strategic framework to diversify beyond the American market.
