The City of Welland held their Grand Opening Celebration for the Memorial Park Pool last night! It was wonderful to see so many people there to support and enjoy the new pool and amenities. With some final landscaping touches still being completed around the area, City of Welland held their soft opening of their brand new Memorial Pool on July 6th, 2024, which is located just behind the Welland Canal within Memorial Park, in Welland Ontario. Teaming up once again with architects Tillmann Ruth Robinson, Aqua Plans Aquatic Consultants Inc. completed the full design of the new pool, which replaces the old Memorial Pool that was built 60 year ago. Built by the team at NIACON, the new pool tank includes a large family friendly and accessible beach entry with spray geysers, gradual entry teaching steps, a separate accessibility ramp into the lap area, 3 x 50M lap lanes, and diving area complete with a 1M Diving Board and 16 foot high climbing wall! Also included in the overall project is a new accessible friendly bathhouse, change house, and various shade structures located around new new pool deck, the shape of which pays homage to the unique design of the original Memorial Pool tank. Located just 3.5 miles from Niagara Falls, Camp Jellystone - Franchisor of Jellystone Park™ Camp-Resorts is the closest campground to the Falls, and its new water feature is now open! Designed by Aqua Plans Aquatic Consultants Inc., the new structure, provided by WhiteWater, includes 4 waterslides, multi-leveled spray zones, and a massive dumping bucket, all over a colourful Life Floor soft floor system. The spray structures' filtration system includes a Neptune Benson, Evoqua Defender filter system and UV, providing high end water quality throughout the day, ensuring minimal system shutdowns are required. Aqua Plans Aquatic Consultants Inc. also provided the design and engineering work for the new Mechanical House/Staff Office, as well as a brand new recirculation system for the existing pool tank, which also now features a Neptune Benson, Evoqua Defender filter. https://lnkd.in/gETBP4h8

Started in the summer of 2011 as a high school summer passion project by Jessica and Julia Surette, and up until now operating out of the Five Oaks Centre outdoor pool in Paris, Ontario, Brave Waves Swim School has grown into the Brant region's most recognized swim school program. Working closely with the Surette family, and alongside the team at Alex Rebanks Architects Inc. (who provided the design and layout for the interior of the swim school), Aqua Plans Aquatic Consultants Inc. provide the full design and engineering of the new pool within Braves Waves first indoor facility, located in Paris, Ontario. The new 2,150 Sq. Ft. pool, which can be divided in to multiple lesson areas and swimming lanes, features a full tile finish of both the pool tank and deck, a integrated teaching tots bench, large entry steps, and a state-of-the-art recirculation system featuring a Neptune Benson, Evoqua Defender Filter, which will help provide the highest quality of water for the patrons of the swim school. https://lnkd.in/gfNf4mxJ

Replacing the original pool, which was built over 60 years ago and named after the founder of Duraflex International Corp, the industry leader in aquatic Diving equipment, the new Ray Rude Outdoor Pool in Stanley ND is completed and ready to open to the public! Working alongside the Ackerman-Estvold team, who provided the design services for the new bathhouse and changeroom facility, Aqua Plans Aquatic Consultants Inc. is excited to have designed the new Pool and Splash Pad for this community. Built by ROERS and Associated Pool Builders, Inc, the new pool is fully accessible with a beach entry tots pool area, a gently sloping family area with teaching steps, a 4 lane x 82 foot lap area, a Vortex waterslide, 16 foot climbing wall, and of course, following up on the facilities heritage, a 14 foot Duraflex 1M Dive Stand. A fantastic new Splash Pad area is located directly next to the Pool, and includes 15 spray features (from Waterplay by MAKR Group) for all ages, and runs off of a fully recirculated water system. Complimenting the perimeter overflow system around the entire pool, the Pool and Splash Pad are filtered with Neptune Benson, Evoqua Defender filters, helping ensure the the highest quality of water possible for this new facility.

The existing W.J. Henderson Centre in Amherstview, ON, opened in 1976 and has played a significant role to Loyalist residents over that time, as it served as a gathering placed for families to skate, swim, and attend social events. After receiving more than $16.5 million in funding from the federal government to improve the facilities safety, accessibility, and environmental performance, construction for the much needed renewal of the W.J. Henderson Recreation Centre is underway. The new Community Hub will feature a new aquatic facility containing two new pools, new aquatic changerooms (including a Family Changeroom), accessibility upgrades throughout the facility, energy conservation methods to help reduce energy usage and greenhouse gas emissions (to help achieve Net Zero readiness), and a new Indigenous Legacy Space (in collaboration with the Gord Downie and Chanie Wenjack Fund. Working with Chandos Construction, MJMA Architecture & Design, Acapulco Pools and others, Aqua Plans Aquatic Consultants Inc. provided the full recirculation system designs, layouts and details for both the new 8 lane 25M Pool and the separate 1,500 Sq. Ft. warm water Leisure Pool. Designed by Montgomery Sisam Architects, the new Children’s Treatment Centre of Chatham-Kent will offer outpatient rehabilitation, respite, recreation and other specialty services to local children and youth with physical, developmental and or communications challenges. Situated on a 6-acre lot, this 50,000 sq. ft. development will replace the existing facility, which is less than half its size. The new building includes a pool, gymnasium, therapy and treatment spaces, and outdoor recreational areas, along with administrative spaces. The new Therapy Pool, designed by Aqua Plans Aquatic Consultants Inc., features various rehabilitation and sensory elements for the children using the space, as well as a full perimeter overflow system to ensure optimum water quality. https://lnkd.in/gA9bm9r6

Construction is well underway at the new Hard Rock Hotel site in London, Ontario. Transforming the historic site of the former Kellogg's Canada Factory, the Hard Rock's planned 353-room hotel design will embrace aspects of the historical site, with both luxury and industrial elements preserving its original charm and atmosphere. 100 Kellogg Lane, where the hotel will open, was Canada's Kellogg’s facility for 104 years, and has since turned into Canada's largest entertainment complex at one million square feet., with the Hard Rock Hotel adding to the already fantastic experience. Currently the property features a variety of restaurants and attractions for guests of all ages, including the Factory, Canada's biggest indoor family entertainment center featuring the largest indoor ropes course in the world, zip-lines, a trampoline park, ultimate warrior course, massive arcade, kids' indoor playground, virtual reality zone, and escape rooms. The property will be the future home of the London Children's Museum and the Canadian Medical Hall of Fame. Guests at the Hard Rock's will be treated to the iconic Brand's signature amenities, like an in-room Crosley vinyl player delivered to their door, a Heritage guitar delivery complete with amplifier for jam sessions, a gym, and a pool and spa. Designed by Aqua Plans Aquatic Consultants Inc., the Pool and Spa will feature both Indoor and Outdoor aspects which can be enjoyed year round. The Pools' design features a walk through portion, which takes the bather from the Indoor area the the Outdoor patio, all while staying in the water! The Outdoor Spa is also located on site next to the pool will also be open year round for guests to enjoy.

Located in the Bridletowne neighbourhood of Scarborough Ontario, the new Bridletowne Neighbourhood Centre (BNC) will be built on the site of the former Timothy Eaton School on Bridletowne Circle in the Warden and Finch area, a short distance from SHN’s Birchmount hospital. A first of its kind not only in the GTA, but in Ontario, the BNC will be home to an innovative collaboration between the YMCA Canada, the United Way Greater Toronto (UWGT), Scarborough Health Network (SHN), and other community service providers. By co-locating vital programs, health care, and inclusive community spaces, the BNC will be a leader in integrated social infrastructure, bringing this currently underserved community not just one service to meet one of its many needs, but wrap-around supports — all easily accessible under one roof. Design is in the final stages for the redevelopment of the L’Amoreaux Kidstown Water Park, located in Scarborough Ontario.  Kidstown Water Park is one of Toronto’s most popular outdoor water facilities for preschool and grade school children, and is the City of Toronto's only owned and operated waterpark.  The revitalization of this iconic destination and its surroundings will help ensure the water park is in good working order for many summers to come. The redesigned water park will be a dynamic, accessible, safe, and exciting space that will better serve existing and new park users. Working alongside PMA Landscape Architects Ltd Aqua Plans Aquatic Consultants Inc. is providing full design and engineering of the aquatics portion of the project, which includes a 4,300 sq. ft. Toddler Pool, a 2,300 sq. ft. Leisure Pool, a runout waterslide built into the hillside, a waterfall play area, and an over 7,000 sq. ft. Vortex splash pad area. The perimeter overflow Toddler wading pool will contain various spray features, a beach entry, a separate accessibility ramp, and a bench area, all within a maximum water depth of 0.75M. The perimeter overflow Leisure Pool pool will feature a second large waterslide and leisure area, all within a maximum water depth of 1.2M. The large Splash pad will be operated off of a recirculating system, and will contain a Senior splash section, including bucket dump, custom spray toys, and other water play features, Hill and water shooters, a Junior splash section with custom spray toys, and various cognitive play areas. Kidstown is located near the site of a 14th-century Huron-Wendat village, known as the Alexandra Site, which was unearthed in an archaeological assessment in the year 2000. Evidence of 16 longhouses and several sweat lodges were found. The design team have been collaborating with the Huron-Wendat First Nation to reflect the history and culture of the Alexandra Site and Huron-Wendat First Nation throughout the redesign of Kidstown. An example of this is the hillside waterfall area, which is an Indigenous Placekeeping element developed through engagement with the Huron-Wendat First Nation and is inspired by La Chute Kabir Kuba Falls, an important site to the Huron-Wendat First Nation. https://lnkd.in/d3uEnMZT
