On this Remembrance Day, we remember Captain Vincent ('Vince') John Lopata. Our team said our final goodbye to Vince yesterday, surrounded by his friends and family. Vince joined the Aquatic Life team 10 years ago, acting as Head of R&D and guiding the company through an innumerable set of challenges and innovations. In his time with Aquatic Life, Vince brought a wealth of chemistry, materials science and management knowledge that not only developed new technologies, but also mentored countless engineering intern students. Before Aquatic Life, Vince had a tenured career at Atomic Energy of Canada, authoring many papers and receiving awards for his research into electron beam curable resin systems. Some of this work included developing stealth coatings and composite airframe techniques with Lockheed Martin and Oak Ridge National Laboratory, ultimately finding its way onto the current generation of Lockheed Martin stealth aircraft and cryogenic composite tanks for spacecraft. Vince also had an exceptionally full personal life, volunteering his time to countless groups, the Winnipeg Grenadiers, veterans, and even authored two books on the defense and siege of Hong Kong.
