“Supplying feedstock to climate tech has multi-billion-dollar potential for mining.” – Dr. Greg Dipple, Arca’s Head of Science. Every year, the resource industry generates billions of tonnes of waste from critical metal mining. Through our technologies, we leverage this mine waste and accelerate the natural process of carbon mineralization – transforming carbon dioxide in the atmosphere into rock. Want to know more? We spoke with Greg about this multi-billion-dollar opportunity - https://lnkd.in/gC2WAUvF #GreatPlaceToWork #GreatPlaceToRock #CarbonDioxideRemoval #RockingCO2 #environment #climatechange #innovation #climateaction #carbonremoval #mining #miningindustry

Rocking CO2 to stabilize the climate.
About us
We remove excess CO2 from the atmosphere and transform it into rocks, for gigatonne-scale impact with an ultralight footprint. We believe that to stabilize our climate we need to make big, bold moves and leverage the existing footprints of large-scale industrial operations. That is why we are developing strategic partnerships with global producers of critical materials. Because we leverage historical mine waste and operate within existing industrial sites, our pathway has a light footprint on the environment and local communities.

Arca rocking Carbon Unbound West Coast. 🪨 Our Head of External Affairs, Sean Lowrie, was a panelist at the Carbon Unbound session: CDR in the Mining Industry: Challenges and Opportunities to Scaling Geochemical CDR. “There is a billion-dollar opportunity for mining through carbon dioxide removal. Mining companies move a massive amount of waste annually, and certain types of mine waste can be used as feedstock for CDR,” shares Sean. If you’d like to find out more about this opportunity, send us a message or visit us at www.arcaclimate.com. #GreatPlaceToWork #GreatPlaceToRock #CarbonDioxideRemoval #RockingCO2 #environment #climatechange #innovation #climateaction #carbonremoval #mining #miningindustry

“Snowboarding brought me to Vancouver,” shares Ryan Chew, our R&D Lab Technician. 🏂 The sport deeply connected him to the environment. “You spend so much time out in the mountains. You see the bad winters and make a connection with global warming.” When he came across Arca, it caught his interest. “What stood out was carbon capture in mine tailings—a field connected to my metallurgy background,” he reflects. “I knew I had a shot at this.” Now at Arca, Ryan plays a vital role as a lab technician. “I’m responsible for the hands-on research experiments.” “Seeing the capture percentage of CO₂ rise with our experiments is incredibly satisfying. It's proof that what we do here really makes a difference." #GreatPlaceToWork #GreatPlaceToRock #CarbonDioxideRemoval #RockingCO2 #environment #climatechange #innovation #climateaction #carbonremoval

Carbon mineralization represents a multi-billion dollar, strategic opportunity for the mining industry. “Purely from a carbon removal perspective, through the mineralization of mine waste, this is a multi billion dollar opportunity. Minimum prices for durable carbon dioxide removal are in the order of US$100 a ton. Considering the scale of the removal that is required, you're talking about huge, huge sources of revenue,” says Dr. Greg Dipple, Arca’s Head of Science. Find out more about this billion-dollar potential for mining in this interview. #GreatPlaceToWork #GreatPlaceToRock #CarbonDioxideRemoval #RockingCO2 #environment #climatechange #innovation #climateaction #carbonremoval

Last week, downtown Vancouver was treated with an eye-catching sight – our rover out in the wild. Arca attended the screening of “inBetween Stories: a climate docuseries premiere” at the VIFF Centre in Vancouver, BC, Canada. Outside the VIFF was our rover in display, while inside was the Arca booth and our Head of Science and Co-Founder, Dr. Greg Dipple at the post-screening panel. To those who dropped by our rover and booth, we had a great time meeting with you all.
