Steel and aluminum are the latest targets for US-imposed tariffs on Canada. Atlantic seafood exporters are now facing a 25% tariff from both China and the US. For context, these exports were worth a total of $5 billion in 2024. Tariffs could amount to $1.25 billion annually. Exporters will likely want to increase their sales to other Asian markets such as Japan, South Korea and Vietnam as well as markets in Europe. _ Interested in learning more about the impact of tariffs for Atlantic Canada?
