Our Story. For more than 60 years Averton has built homes, created communities and managed construction projects in a wide variety of North American markets. Across three generations, we’ve developed thousands of acres of land, over 10,000 homes, and accrued an unmatched wealth of knowledge and expertise.     I am proud to announce that Averton has once again been awarded Best Customer Experience in the Edmonton Multi-Family home category. The Edmonton Region is building more multi-family homes than ever before, so Averton receiving the highest recognition in this category is humbling. The Home Owner Mark of Excellence (H.O.M.E) Awards are based on the results of customer surveys conducted by CustomerInsight Inc. throughout the customer ownership experience, and then compared to the results of others across the industry. An award like this means so much to our whole team because the customer experience is paramount to our purpose, and the recognition is a testament to our team’s efforts in prioritizing consistent excellence in servicing our valued customers. This is the 3rd time we have won this award, and I couldn’t be more proud of all of our people and the culture of excellence in our company.

    These are exciting days at Averton, as we are pleased to announce that Tom Burr MRICS CAIA has joined our team this month. Tom brings a wealth of experience in the development of purpose-built rental projects in multiple markets, and will spearhead Averton’s growing efforts in the development of multi-family rental communities in both Ontario and Alberta through our new Rental Division.     With a key focus on strategy, investment, and growth, Tom will be collaborating closely with me and Matthew Lanni, as well as other members of Averton senior leadership in both Edmonton (Rebecca Priest) and Toronto (Vania Ottoborgo). Tom’s experience will significantly contribute to our mission to deliver homes and communities with passion and purpose. His role will be pivotal in realizing the potential of Averton’s strategic land holdings in and around the Greater Toronto Area and throughout the Edmonton Region, in addition to Averton’s pursuit of new opportunities in select key markets.     Averton’s new Rental Division will become the vehicle for the development and management of purpose-built rental housing, utilizing the experience that Averton has accumulated in building communities in multiple markets for over 60 years. With an enviable track record of designing and building high performance homes in both the high rise condominium space and low rise housing space, Averton will be taking the same disciplined approach in our portfolio of build-to-rent projects.   The development of purpose-built rental housing is a natural complement to Averton’s long-standing expertise in delivering award-winning for-sale housing and communities. The homes we build, the communities we create, and the construction projects we manage benefit from three generations of experience in achieving the height of detail-oriented design and big picture thinking. By growing our rental operations in this time of unprecedented demand for housing in Canada, we will be able to deliver more homes to an ever-growing audience of people that aspire to live in them.
