Today, we honor the survivors of residential schools, their families, and the children who never returned home. As we observe the fourth year of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we reflect on the importance of ongoing Reconciliation. In recognition of this significant day, our offices will be closed on September 30. We encourage our colleagues to take this time to reflect on the past and consider how we can work with Indigenous Peoples towards a more just, equitable, and inclusive future. #NationalDayforTruthandReconciliation

Aviso’s Culture Committee recently hosted two fireside chats with SVP Head of Direct Investing Christine Zalzal in Toronto, and SVP Head of Credit Union Wealth Management Wanda Frisk in Vancouver. Fireside chats are opportunities for colleagues to connect with our leaders and learn more about them as people and professionals. Christine and Wanda offered some fruitful advice to attendees: 1. Be authentic: Understand who you are and stay true to yourself. 2. Professional development: Have a mentor and/or sponsor and learn continually. A mentor will guide you, a sponsor will vouch for you, and training will develop your skill set. 3. Take risks: For those beginning their careers sometimes don’t be afraid to take on more challenging projects that are outside your comfort zone. Thank you for the fantastic conversations, Christine and Wanda! #oneaviso Qtrade Aviso Wealth

Last week, we had the privilege to be part of the Financial & Operations Advisory Section (FOAS) Annual Conference 2024, held in Ottawa. Over the course of the event, we connected with industry colleagues to share the many ways we power businesses that empower investors and why we’re the partner of choice for over 110 portfolio managers, investment dealers, and other financial organizations. The CIRO / OCRI event is one of the largest annual events for the Canadian securities industry and brings together an array of financial and operations executives. Aviso was proud to be a platinum sponsor of this years event. Thank you to CIRO, and to all who joined and connected with the Aviso team!
