Today we honour the memories of Paramedic Chief JoAnn Fuller and #Paramedic Ivan Polivka. The two lost their lives in 2010 when their ambulance veered off a narrow road into Kennedy Lake on their return from the hospital in Port Alberni. #LODD #InMemoriam

Elizabeth Davis, affectionately dubbed ‘Queen of the North’ by many of her colleagues, broke boundaries as a woman in the field of pre-hospital medicine. As the first unit chief of the Prince George station, then as zone coordinator for a geographic area encompassing two thirds of the province, Elizabeth was responsible for building infrastructure that still stands to this day. During her 11 years as zone coordinator, Davis grew the number of stations in her region from 22 to 47. While this was a team effort, Davis was no stranger to putting in the hard work. “I washed cars, I put in radios, I took out radios, I measured tires, I put in batteries,” Davis said.
