Late in 2021 Benson Steel was awarded the contract to fabricate and erect the structural steel and mass timber systems for the new Ottawa Public Library and Library and Archives Canada joint facility. Since June 2023 Benson Steel proudly has been fabricating the structural steel for the Enwave Energy Corporation's new low-carbon heating facility at Pearl Street Energy Centre in downtown Toronto. This expansion and renewal of their facilities will enable Enwave to provide low-carbon heat to Toronto’s district energy grid. Enwave’s new low-carbon heating facility will be a game changer for buildings that are targeting to reach the highest level of Toronto Green Standards as well as Zero Carbon Building certifications from the Canadian Green Building Council. In a few days (January 2024) Connor will be on his final continental feat; a triathlon in Antarctica.
