🚁 Kicking off a new project with Blackcomb Helicopters! Since 2019, Synergy Enterprises has partnered with Blackcomb Helicopters to measure, work to reduce and offset their GHG emissions. With an unwavering commitment to their carbon neutrality program, Blackcomb continues to work closely with Synergy to push the boundaries of environmental responsibility and responsible aviation. This year, they are expanding their efforts to include the emissions from Tyax Adventures, a company recently acquired by Blackcomb Helicopters. Welcome onboard Tyax Adventures!

Last week, our Hoist Ops team in Pemberton honed their skills with internal training for our hoist program. Pilots and technicians practiced rescue deployments in the challenging mountain terrain of the Sea to Sky, as shown here. In these rugged landscapes, local Search and Rescue teams often depend on air support for fixed-line or hoist rescues when ground extraction isn’t an option.

The skies have been busy this week around Whistler/Pemberton with air assistance working on multiple wildfires in the Rutherford, Birkenhead and Lillooet Lake areas. The Blackcomb Heli team have been flying alongside Conair Aerial Firefighting, Wildcat Helicopters Inc., Black Tusk Helicopters, 49 North Helicopters, Airspan Helicopters Ltd., Airborne Energy Solutions and more, working for BC Wildfire. Thanks to all who are involved in supporting our hometowns. You can do your part during this time by considering the following: - Be Fire Smart. Follow all fire bans and report any fires to BC Wildfire (download the app - they provide prompts for gathering valuable information). Call 1-800-663-5555. - Note that Birkenhead Provincial Park is closed. - Be aware that with aircraft hired on wildfires, Search and Rescue may have delayed or no air assistance. Take extra precautions while adventuring. - Note that there is heavier than usual air traffic around Whistler/Pemberton if flying recreationally.

Recent lightning sparked several new fire starts close to home in the Pemberton zone. The local team spent yesterday responding to the Birkenhead and Rutherford fires with BC Wildfire.
